So honestly, how many of you guys ACTUALLY read for pleasure?

If you do, what have you been reading these days? What kind of Genres do you like? I've been rather deprived as far as interesting material to read. Last things I read was Nagiko's Pillow Book, A large Anthology of Jorge Luis Borges stories, and Yukio Mishima's PATRIOTISM. I enjoyed them all thoroughly and recommend them all if your up for gore, chaos, mad deep thought, surrealism, and perversion.

Yeah, my literary interests are kinda weird. But please share some stuff. I do like to read anything fascinating when I can.

I dislike reading books

I can read ebooks and everything just fine but I just dislike the material 'book'.

I'm the opposite- anything more than a few paragraphs starts getting uncomfortable unless it's in an actual book.

Basically this.

That and I usually get too lazy to read the books I get.

Besides reading yuri, I got this one book that I stopped reading because of our reading assignment in school. I have been meaning to put it in the bathroom so I can read then, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

The book is The Nightshift by Lilith Saintcrow.
I swear that name is so awesome.
Lilith.

Oh yeah! I've heard that's a good one. Thanks for reminding me about that one.

I hate reading books, because when I do it I read extremely slowly (about 20 pages in 50 minutes), and it doesn't interest me at all, anyway.

even though I sometimes read visual novels on my laptop.

I do enjoy reading. Generally I'm into pure fiction, but if that fails, sometimes other genres of fiction. I just can't read nonfiction, it's so boring.
Right now I'm in the middle of the Demonata series. Good book. But, since the next one's not out yet, I'm going to start reading Twilight, just to see if it's terrible or actually good.

I do enjoy reading, but I always have trouble finding books I actually want to read. If I can really get into one, though, I tend to read long into the night without even realizing it.

Nothing inherently wrong, I suppose.
Saintcrow is a pretty wierd name though. I wonder where it originated, assuming it's her real name.

There are a lot of odd names.

If her family at some point in time changed their last name, she only inherited it, after all.
Or maybe she is married and her husband is the one who got a name change.

When college isn't taking over my reading list with stupid philosophy texts like Mill's Utilitarianism or other things I simply don't feel like reading or learning about, I do actually enjoy cracking open a book every now and again.

My favourite books that I've read of my own accord are Lolita (banned books for the win!) and The Vampire Lestat (yes, I'm one of those people). If I had time (I proably will over summer) I'd like to read The Other Boleyn Girl (which I got about three quarters into last year and had to stop reading for college applications), How to Read Novels Like a Professor (got about a fourth into this one before realizing college isn't as easy beans as I hoped it would be), and the first book in the Halo novel series (which Medaf asked me to read a year or so ago, and I haven't really had an interest in the games until recently). I'd also like to reread The Vampire Lestat just to see if it's really as great as I remember it.

Oh, and admittedly, I'd at least like to peek in at Twilight (perhaps not buy it, but just read it for an hour or so at Borders; it's not really worth the cover price, in my opinion) just to see what the hype's about and find ways to legitimately hate it. It seems rather lame hating it without having actually read it.

So yeah, I like reading (and apparently parentheses too, Jesus Christ!).

Perhaps she did just inherit the name, honestly I hadn't considered one of her ancestors having changed her name.
