Games are more about the experience. and I don't mean RPG type experience.
that said I've only had bad experience with EarthBound, and I don't enjoy NES RPGs, but Mother 3 is a good experience. |
OPINIANS OPINIANS OPINIANS.
[opinion]Mother 3 may well be simply a video game, true, but to say that a good, satisfying story like its own is only book-worthy is really kind of shallow. The level of character development occurring in M3 is so unique because it can only be achieved through the concept of a videogame itself, where the player is involved directly with everything going on inside of it. The player and the character become one, and because a good portion of the game is up to the player (naming is REALLY important in M3) the perception of and relationship with the characters becomes very unified.
In essence, being a videogame, Mother 3 has a deeper level of player-character relation with the user when compared to books, where the story is less involvement and more interpretation. This is why the game can be so personally tearing toward some people.[/opinion]
