Another Question:
Can we let the player end the game with Escape? Because it is annoying if you cant quit and first have to loose all lives.

No you can not.

Also, the player can always end the game by pressing the huge X (close) button on the window, y'know.

It plays like a cross between Super Mario Bros. and Knytt Stories.

I now have the whole first level of my entry up and running, including the boss, the Big Core from Gradius. Demo coming soon, after I finish the second level.

Wait on a second, shouldn't we use the key pad with 4 being left, 6 being righ,t 8 being up, 2 being down and 5 being the confirmation or action key? You know so that it ACTUALLY simulates a phone?

Update

Mario is 8 pixels tall
Tiles are 4x4

Game is about a lizard named bowser who takes a princess and you run through levels to go save her in a castle.

Its called "Mario"

Possible demo later tonight.

Question:
Can the screen be 200x200, but the actual playing space be smaller?
Oh and if I have a particle engine that is literally throwing out 2 or 3 pixels and draining their alpha as a dirt effect, and a similar thing for fire and splashes, is that okay?
