Stubborn old man!, Just wanna rage here.

What she should have done is left when he said no to her help, than she should have re-entered, positioned herself behind the old man and said something like "here, let me help" in a really gruff voice, then the man will turn around to thank you once he's up, and have a heart attack once he realizes who actually helped him.

And you say that some of my comments are mean....

I treat everyone equally. When I see a logical fallacy or some contradiction or hypocrisy, I point it out -- regardless of the speaker.

No, I hardly ever curse, and especially not to make things "funny".

I was just thinking about the time when everyone jumped on me for being brutally honest to another member....

If you don't know now then you'd never be able to understand. Even if I was able to explain it to you, you'd insist it wasn't funny.

I always thought if one couldn't explain something in normal words to someone, he/she didn't really understand it completely his/herself.

I mean, I may have found such a thing funny, like, back in middle school when it was OH SO FUNNAY when someone attached "****ing" to every noun in their sentence, but I don't think it's so matter of me not understanding as it is a matter of me growing out of it.

It's not the cursing part that's funny. I remember you saying long ago that you don't watch much TV, so I guess it would be void if I tried making a TV example... err...

But you know, there was this one episode on this show... this kid was the class clown, and his dad wanted him to stop, so he let him join a clown class after school. The teacher explained why things were funny and, showed this weird stuff that was funny logically, but it wasn't "Funny"
Stuff happened, and the kid entered a talent show to show off his new "funny" and, it wasn't funny to the audience, even though it clearly and efficiently explained why it was funny. Eventually, the kid learned this and went back to his old, funny jokes.
In the end of the show, he placed a pencil in this other kid's soda can, and when the soda-drinking kid tried to take a sip, he laughed because of the joke. At the end, the class clown says
"The old Pencil-in-the-can trick! Always funny... don't know why."

So... you don't really need an explanation for something to be funny; you either get it or you don't.

If it were me helping the old man, I'd have gone all "Shut up, old fart. Let me get you up." And if the old man is still being stubborn, answer with snide remarks and deadpan snarking. Fun stuff.

Arrgh, why couldn't I think of any of that when it was happening?!
