Even then, the event spared electricity of what Denmark uses for weeks. If you compare it to the entire world, obviously, you're gonna get small numbers.

and denmark is a small country and has a negligible impact on energy usage anyway

It's mostly symbolic. Sure, it might not actually save a lot electricity, but it shows that you support it.

Putting pink ribbons on your cars doesn't help scientists stop breast cancer, but you are showing your support and the small amount of money you pay for them goes towards the cause. Same deal here.

there's really no point to this
co2 lags behind temperature by about 800 years
turning off everything for an hour isn't going to do anything other than let us live for about 40 more minutes before we all burn to death

and then we all stopped posting here
the end

I was at work, so technically I participated.

I would have anyway, but for some reason the Environmental PAC I give money to didn't call me about it, which is weird because not a day goes by they don't call me to tell me to call congress.

Right now I'm lazy, so I'll settle with the status quo, aka spectator democracy.

I gladfully participated in earth hour... Just an hour after lights were back on, some moron crashed into a power line pole and power was cut out for over 2 hours for my area.

I partially believe that it was some Green Peace extremist who deliberately did that.

Earth hours? All electronics are usually turned off whenever everyone in the household goes outdoors. Which is quite often, actually. :/
