the only console i've had to replace due to problems is my PC (if that counts) and my DS

Dreamcast would be there too if I ever got around to replacing it but I didn't

Okay, well that's unusual because I've been charged despite having a warranty, as well as others.

Really?

You called up Microsoft, told them you had the RROD, got the box sent to you, and all that, and still got charged?

Yeah! Funny too, one of my friends said that a common cause is just a part in the inside that just gets heated, and you could just open it and fix it yourself quickly.

Yes I have heard of that, though that would void the warranty. Still, if they don't fix it free for you, then doing that isn't so bad.

I'm still unsure why they charge you. I've gone through the process three times now. Each time it was much faster too (first time took a month, second time took 2 weeks, third time took a weekend)

Maybe it's because of where he lives?
