Moe, ech. I really don't find the way anything drawn encites arousment, through personal perception, affects me.
Love stories? I think my favorite anime with a love story has to be Eureka Seven.

Outlaw Star. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Air Gear. Tenchi in Tokyo. Black Cat Neon Genisis Evangelion. Cowboy Bebop. Add that to anythsmurfing by Tatsunoko, and I'm saved.
Moe, along with most other genres, need good writsmurfing to back them up. And this is somethsmurfing most to all do not have.
I'm have a very high appreciation for GOOD anime, none of the stereotypical, super glossy wide-eyed mess. The animation and production aspects are what draw me in. I look for good stories that don't drag on forever, with great animation, humor, deep undertones, and great characters, much like I care for in my games.
Honestly though, I just stick with comics and graphic novels. These days I don't really stretch into newer anime unless GAiNAX, BONES, or Oh! great are involved. I'm a huge affiçionado of the older shows, though.

Japanese just have weird obsessions, I suppose. I always find it strange how they're willing to make anime that's suppose to be targeted for children, yet would probably be meant for an older audience (5 year old kids watch Shin-Chan, that little boy who likes to shake his ass and expose his ***** while being horny when it comes to women).
But meh. That's just them, I guess.
In any case, I need to get into watching more shonen anime. As much as magical girl shoujo anime is addicting to me, the stories are all relatively the same and it's getting boring.
Plot line for a Magical Girl Anime: Girl with some issue (love life., can't figure out what to do in life, etc.) ends up in some situation where she acquires magical powers. She gathers up other teammates, who JUST SO HAPPEN TO LIVE IN THE SAME TOWN. They fight monsters using colorfully annoying attacks with silly names that don't sound deadly. Add random side stories involving the heroines in between. End of the story, girls end up defeating a seemingly impossible villain by some way, with lots of drama to ensue. Very end of story, happy ending for all/keep their powers and continue saving the world.
