Haha, I never said that Women being emotional are more mature and Men being not so emotional are not mature. Now you're trying to mix the stereo type of Women being mature, but what makes them mature? their emotional status?

Another factor could have been that your co-worker simply doesn't enjoy jokes of that manner. A lot of my friends (male and female) would find that hilarious.
