SourceTales of Vesperia port for PS3. Apparently, it's not a direct port becuase they're add ing a new character. Some young pirate girl. This will be interest ing. Tales of VS for the PSP. A up four-player multi-player fight ing game featur ing characters from other Tales of... games. Tales of Graces for the Wii. Yes, that new "mothership" title they were talk ing about. | QUOTE | | In Graces, players take control of Aspel Rant, an 18-year-old who resides on the outskirts of a kingdom. Some unspecified event takes place that leaves Aspel desiring strength. A catch phrase for Aspel listed in the magazine says "I don't want to lose anyone again," suggesting that the unspecified event involved someone's death. |
Hype train pulling into the station.

Bumping since more info.
Tales of Graces:
| QUOTE | As detailed last week, players take control of 18-year-old Asbel Lhant. Namco Bandai still hasn't shared specifics on the story, but did clarify today that the game takes place in a world split into three kingdoms whose civilizations were built around some sort of material known as Eris.
The game's battle system is known as the "Style Shift Linera Motion Battle" system. The "Style Shift" part of the name comes from the fact that you can switch your characters between multiple stances during the fight. Combat also allows players to pivot around their targeted opponent like in a fighting game.
One note for those expecting some wacky Wiimote motion controls. The game will apparently be playable both with the Wiimote/nunchuck combo or with just the Classic Controller Pro. It's unclear if the Pro is required or if the standard Classic controller will work just as well. |
The game sounds awesome so far. I'm really looking forward to it. And they're not forcing motion controls, so **** yes.
Tales of Vesperia:
| QUOTE | The area of voice looks like a major point for the PS3 version, which apparently features twice as much voice as its Xbox 360 counterpart! Hopefully that doesn't mean the PS3 version's English release will arrive too far beyond the Japanese version!
The PS3 version also promises a number of other updates, including new scenarios and events. It will also have some form of tie-up with the Tales of Vesperia animated movie that was also announced next week. |
And people say the PS3 doesn't have it's benefits. Twice the dialogue and new events/content. Tales of Vesperia Movie: | QUOTE | | Namco Bandai shared final details on that movie today. Fully titled "Tales of Vesperia The First Strike," the movie follows main character Yuri during his time as a member of the Imperial Knights prior to the start of the game. Outside of Yuri, a number of other characters will appear in the movie. |
Haven't played the game yet so, I don't know if I should be saying "yay!"
Tales of VS:
| QUOTE | The game's combat system is based around the series' Linear Motion Battle System with 2D plane-based combat. Ground height and walls also apparently have an effect on battle.
VS looks like it's going to have a lot of depth for a fighter. In addition to 35 characters taken from 13 Tales games, the game features a fully voiced story mode that places the characters in four kingdoms. Production I.G. will be providing a new animated intro for the game. |
Oh god, I might actually get a PSP just for this game. 35 major characters from previous tales games and a voiced story mode? **** this game is going to be awesome. EDIT: SourceEDIT AGAIN: IGN Also has four images for Tales of Graces up. This post has been edited by Fiddy Three on Apr 6 2009, 05:37 PM

| QUOTE (Mug @ Apr 6 2009, 06:00 PM) | Mrs. A, when you say typical anime style, are you referring to the models in game, the artwork, or both? Just asking for clarification.
p.s. I think both Colette and Estelle look younger than they actually are while Tear looks older (and also dressed inappropriately) xP Most of the other females seem to generally match their age with their looks. |
I'm referring a tad more to the artwork than the graphics, though I really haven't seen much of the graphics to really make a fair judgment. From what I saw in Symphonia, though, I'm not sure if I'd ever want to see more in-game graphics, anyways; they really don't suit my tastes in 3D models.

| QUOTE (TenguMan @ Apr 2 2009, 07:33 AM) | Are the Tales of.. games made recently any good? I mean they keep getting churned out faster than Tetris remakes, so I've sorta been skeptical about them.
Then again that could just be the fact my most recent system is GCN and I have some sort of denial of not being able to play any of the Tales of.. games beyond ToS or emulating ToD (PSX). |
Emulate Tales of Eternia while you're at it, it's really good. ;x I would definitely play Abyss, it's piss easy but a wonderful game. VS is confusing me, there appears to be a 2d and 3d mode. The 3d looks ok, whatever, but the 2d is horrendous. Tales of Eternia and Tales of the World gba backgrounds, Tales of Eternia sprites/Tales of the World sprites, just ... what the hell? Put some effort in. ._. it's so ugly. Graces sounds interesting with this "battle style shifting" during fights and the 360 degree sidestep, but god are the graphics incredibly lazy. **** YES TALES OF VESPERIA FOR PS3 FINALLY, I don't have a 360. Ew at the pirate though, we already have Chat and she's got a better ship! Mrs. A, I'd like to point out that there's two artists/main character designers, they do different games and are distinct styles. Kosuke Fujishima you might see from things like Ah my Goddess and You're Under Arrest; he did Symphonia while Mutsumi Inomata is from what I hear a fantasy novel illustrator, her art style was pretty gross and hard for me to get used to, though she's improving now. Both types of games are wonderful though, and I've taken a liking for the 2d ones, even if the last one we got in the States was on ps1 (Eternia) so not very advanced. Tales of the Abyss (Fujishima) http://gallery.dot-3.com/displayimage.php?album=30&pos=16Tales of Destiny (Inomata) http://gallery.abyssalchronicles.com/displ...lbum=141&pos=41I suppose this isn't a fair comparison though, I've taken Abyss which is fairly recent and compared it to Destiny, Inomata's first Tales game. :p she did improve later on though, I think for the Destiny remake and Innocence, etc. http://gallery.dot-3.com/displayimage.php?album=13&pos=4
