The 29-year-old woman told the Telegraph that she instantly knew “something was wrong,” and her natural instinct was to shut her eye, which she did. The Bournemouth, Dorset, resident’s eye was glued shut for eight hours before doctors were able cut off her lashes and pry it open.

Griffin is still waiting to see if there will be any lasting damage to her sight.
