Text messaging is really handy. Most of the time it's cheaper to just send a quick text message to somebody than it is to call them. It's also quieter, you can do it in the movies or on a train and nobody will notice.
It's useful. I really don't see how it affects you at all though, unless you mean people talking about texting, as was mentioned before. But that's an entirely different thing. |
I digress, since I wasn't the first one to say this.
There's nothing WRONG with texting, for me it's the idea that people refuse to call each other when they have plenty of time to talk, but pull out the phone and text instead. Then they complain about having too many rollover minutes, or not getting certain information, or whatever, when just talking to them on the phone adds more understanding to the converstation.
Sure, texting has it's application, just like any type of IM, but it's become such common place it's starting to corrode the idea that you can actually call people to talk.
