Hey European MFGG'ers, you're in luck!

Any plans of it coming to the US or am I going to have to import?

Btw played the ROM, don't kill me - the game is fantastic. The graphics and the music are truly a work of art. I'd say this game is better than NSMB.

This is exactly what Lightning predicted as soon as this game was announced.

I think I'll try this game out.

I can't wait for an US release, so I have put it on my R4DS!

EDIT: And SO FAR that I've played, it's pretty good and a little bit on the easy side. But it is still worth your money.

I downloaded it and played through the first few levels. I didn't really like it. The graphics were average - some of them looked nice, but others were pretty crappy. I got bored because the levels all felt similar and the lack of running meant I couldn't progress very fast.


Out of interest though, I opened it in Tahaxan and noticed that a lot of the data files are LZ compressed XML. I don't think I've ever seen a DS game use it.

Great art team and the game looks really cool.

But wt**** plot?

Great Giana Sisters, a Super Mario Bros.-Knock-Off for the C64, is having an OFFICIAL come-back on the Nintendo DS?!?

I mean, hasn't Nintendo once made a lawsuit against their developers, or have I a mistake in my memory?

Nintendo has agreed that it's ok to make this DS reincarnation.
If you look at clips of this new game, you'll notice it has less similarity to SMB than the original. The original even had the whole 1-1 of SMB nearly identical.

The new one has a lot more unique features, characters, graphics, etc.
Just because a game reminds you of SMB you can't shoot it down anymore nowadays, and they have really put some effort to make it different to SMB from what I've seen so far.

If you play the game (like I am), you'll notice that Giana Sisters DS has a different feeling than a Super Mario Bros. or event the original Giana Sisters game. So it looks like Nintendo won't sue (not to mention that the game is licensed by Nintendo)

But a weird thing about this game is that it is called Giana Sisters but I have yet to see Giana's sister Maria anywhere.

Game's a tad bit easy, but that's allright.
