K here's the deal and here's another deal Attitudes at MFGG are not good. Thought I'd nailed it a few months back as the number of reports started to decline, but alas, they're back and they're ready to kick some butt in Wild Canyon again, and there's still quite a few things not being reported at all which doesn't help (but I'll save that rant for another day!). There are numerous things that are bugging me at the moment about the state of MFGG. Some in the form of telling moderators/administrators how to do their job (top tip: don't - keep it within the boundaries of reports thx), some weird ones in the form of going around shooting down MFGG as a whole essentially claiming it's okay to be an ass here (top tip: it's not). Too many rude members, too many stupid/awkward posts of which we could really do without, too many people moaning about things that honestly do not matter, too many people pushing themselves right up to the ban-line but just falling short of being ban-worthy etc. etc. etc. y so serious? y not I'd like to see some improvements MFGG. Getting a bit tired of seeing locked topics in the GC all the time. Getting a bit sick of people playing the blame game and not actually fixing the problems they've likely caused. Start taking some responsibility for your actions - shape up or ship out. Would be fantastic if rather than contribute to horrible discussions, that the energy goes elsewhere, the topic is reported, treated, and the excess can go onto create good things. GC's been flooded with tripe recently and it appears that more effort has gone into shooting down ShyGuy Grey than making sure these sorts of things weren't posted. Have a shot at reading the rules - it does pretty much cover everything though it certainly wouldn't be wise to work around them. Think of all the wonderful things that could be made in the time it takes for some of you to complain about trivial matters! You could make a Lego DSi like this guy. It's basically an advanced warning, because my snapometer could break if this continues and the ban toll will start to rise exponentially and then the skies will turn a deep red and then lava will rise from the sewers and earthquakes will erupt (except in Italy, I think you guys deserve a break at this point in time, seriously) and then the four riders of the apocolypse shall come and yeah. MFGG is not breeding grounds for crap and you're in danger of seeing that ban-line be moved forward. Of course we're already getting prepared for some colourful bans that are likely to happen in the near future, but too much colour doesn't give you a very realistic TV display. Needs to be a bit unsaturated don't you think? Oh and it's not a good idea to try and dispute the definition of "crap". At the end of the day we're the ones cleaning it up. If people want to take this outside then fine, but just don't bring it back to MFGG k. Some people don't mind dealing with crap on a daily basis, but sadly for you, I do, and I'm in charge!!!!1 Sorry for being blunt but on a positive note MFGG went many months without a reminder and ban numbers have been down. Just want to make sure it stays that way. Once again, the log-out door is open if you're not happy. Can't see any sackings anytime soon.

| QUOTE (mariobro27 @ Apr 7 2009, 11:56 AM) | | Because, really, people shouldn't be posting spam on forums in the first place, and members of MFGG should be glad that, after some time of good behaviour, they gain access to a hidden forum that allows spam to a certain extent. |
If anything all locking the CCC away from new members and "bad" members does is it spreads rubbish rather than lessening it. Even some that may not have been perfectly acceptable in the CCC wouldn't have been as bothersome as it would in other forums such as the GC, but again, it goes without saying that it is still questionable to lock topics for reasons such as "keep it out of the GC" when the people who posted it can't access the right forum.
To be honest the attitudes of members aren't only attributed to "bad" members either, there are a lot of people getting away with borderline trolling on this forum sometimes. I'd say just about the whole community, mods and all, need to consider lightening up a bit. Myself included.

| QUOTE (SonicProject @ Apr 7 2009, 11:53 AM) | | I can't understand punishing people for posting content in the wrong forum when they can't access the correct forum. |
But the CCC is not the same as the GC. So posting in the GC something that's usually posted in the CCC would warrant
A. A move
B. A lock
Simple as that. If you can't post in the CCC, why can't everyone just accept the term "too bad" and accept that they have to be on good behavior for a while before they can post their LOLZZZ FUNEE MEME SPAM
"I've been banned from the fangame forum, why do you lock my threads in the GC about my fangames?!!1111"
or "I've been banned from PMs, why do you lock my call-out topics?!!!1"
In the end, CCC access is a privilege, not a right, and spammy non-GC material is not for the GC. Period, end of story.
----
Anyway, for something on topic: good points all around, Black Squirrel. Glad someone put their foot down. But, this behavior has been going on for a very long time. Admins and mods will always get the flack, too, because people get butthurt when their favorite thread gets locked or their favorite member gets banned or they get banned.
