The "problem" narrows down to the userbase

If all the banned member is interested in is the CCC, it's either his problem, or the rest of the userbase is not contributing to art, fangames, etc.

Which is happening quite regularly (at least in the art board), so he should easily be busy for three months looking at art junk and playing fangames he hasn't played yet

Well Joey it doesn't really matter that much to me if you take me seriously or not, but I am entitled to my opinion just as much as you are. :>

But anyway yeah the CCC option failed so time to get ridiculously strict on everyone. :o

That's a pretty big misinterpretation. The CCC did not "fail," this is the best incarnation of the PPP so far. And oh no, admins are going to be "strict" and all of my fail tro|ll posts will be locked and I'll be punished more! Its leik everee mod is joey nao, well all b doomd and MFGG IS RUINED

We should bring back forum games once more and make it casual only this time. Not to mention, write some decent rules for it and actually moderate it.

new members who want to post spam aren't the members we want to keep in this forum anyway, sonicproject.

I think Black Squirrel is referring to the issues with some of the older members who should know better by now.

Yeah lets make a forum that will die in a week, what mfgg needs is a ton of useless forums!

Fact is, you can make forum game threads all you want in the CCC, and if its popular it'll stick around. But let's face it- forum games don't stay entertaining for very long at all.

I freely admit that my attitude on the forums has been total ass lately (sometimes being only just outside of ban-worthy territory), and I really do need to improve my way of posting. Thanks for this topic; it served as a sort of wake-up call.

Hopefully the fact that I'm starting to catch up on sleep will facilitate such an improvement.

Hmm, so posts are either:

A) "Intelligent" and "on-topic"

or

B) "stupid" 4chan memes fffffuuuuu


The General Chat needs at least 2 more moderators in order to:

A) Put checks & balances on S.G.G.

B) Take the load of work off of S.G.G.

The G.C. having only one moderator is a pretty big **** in the face of any semblance of fairness

I wouldn't go saying attitudes have been more rude, but I will say that some GC topics have gotten more than their fair share of spammy posts lately. Not sure if it's still from all that April Fools' goofiness, but nonetheless it was there.

Some of it is caused by the new, unexperienced members. Heck, I know my posts when I was first here weren't...the best, to say the least, but over time if they stay around they should be good.

I also believe that the remaining fraction are just those few people who like stirring it up (for better or worse). Granted, by now under your control BS, we've filtered out all those bad members who just weren't up to any good at all, so that isn't much of a worry to me.

However, I do agree with Tony Trombone that the GC may need another mod to assist SGG now that Bacteriophage is out of the picture. I know we have Risa Onda too, but another wouldn't hurt if done right.

:x I really haven't been very active lately, but I'm gonna get better about that.

I agree that one more GC mod wouldn't hurt now that Phage has officially quit.

Problem is, the reason the CCC exists and not the PPP is because too much spam went there. New members just need to learn to control themselves - everyone else should be thankful the CCC exists.

if someone posted porn in the gc, would you get mad if they were banned because "we don't have a porn forum so i put it here!!!!"

Yeah I don't see why CCC being Casual-only is a problem, the whole point is that people should be able to make it 2 months and 250 posts without having to resort to pointless spam to raise their post-count.

If you make the CCC open to everyone then that's great, you have a spam forum for all the newbies who have nothing else to give to the community. How does that help anybody?
