To be honest I don't think what you're talking about is really part of the problem at all. As you say, people whinging about bans and such is part of the territory, and the tired old "power hungry mods who don't treat members well" thing has been used on this forum from people who don't like a mods decision since the first bans ever went out. A forums atmosphere never had anything to do with the mods banning someone.

I'm not talking about bans.

I'm talking about moderator attitude in addition to member attitude.

I'm not really noticing any mods banning people for the hell of it- maybe you can point some of that out to me?

The rules are there, and they're pretty clear on what not to do. I'd consider them a bit vague, yeah, (especially the common sense rule- woo a rule that basically says "don't do anything we don't want you to do but are too lazy to list"), but overall you can avoid breaking them fairly easily.

My mention of the "ban people who disagree with them" is only in relation to the threat in the first post. Mentioning the past wouldn't accomplish anything.

You were talking about the member ban topic like it was a big issue and...then something about how the mods were power hungry... you're confusing me.

Either way I don't think you're on the right mark.

If you still don't understand then sorry but I don't know any other way to put it. Honestly I'm not that focused on trying to hit the mark with you.

Fair enough.

The mods won't permaban somebody only because they don't like them.
They have to have gotten banned before.

It's been in the rules for a while though

we already had the ****storm over this, there's really not much point to having members start ***** threads besides starting pointless drama. this is a forum about mario fan games, not a forum about how much you hate the staff of a mario fan games forum.

Well they haven't done it yet from what I can recall.

But there's the stupidity and common sense rules, both rules vague enough that they can ban members for pretty much anything if they wanted to.

Dunno if permabans have anything to do with this topic anyway. Really, the way I read it, it was talking about "improve your attitude or we'll have to come down harder" and that seems fine to me.

I do not recall saying that I hate the staff of this forum, I don't. So speaking of pointless drama, I would say that "putting words into other people's mouths" ranks pretty high. But lol, I digress.

Anyway, I can't really say much to the effect of "good show" or whatever for the speech in the first post. I don't really agree with much of it besides attitudes need to improve. But I still think it needs to improve on all fronts. Not just members.

This isn't about CCC stuff, it's not about instant permabans, it's not about ban topics or finding faults in the rules or my administration or whatever, it's about the bad attitude of the members.

I don't care for the cause I care for the solution. I'm sick of people being whiny asses contributing nothing and I don't see why we have to tolerate it. Hence this warning that it won't be tolerated. And I'm not sure why I should have to justify my reasonings for not tolerating it either. It's not "power going to my head" (how come you mention this whenever I put an idea into action?) as at the end of the day it's me who deals with it - there's nobody higher up that does this anymore, and it seems all the mods lower down feel the same way. I have the "power" to make things easier on the entire mod team and good proportions of the memberbase... why can't I use that power again?

yes it's unfortunate I am the adminstrator now and *gasp* I have to make decisions. If you have someone else in mind feel free to point him/her out

what are you even fighting for this time anyway?
