People use tired old memes and things that spawned about 5 years ago on the internet as a substitute for humour and originality. People are followers, monkey see monkey do, sheep, whatever you want to call it.

Personally, i've never been to 4chan, don't even know what it is and i'm not interested. I'd rather be original and boring than a drone.

Not to mention only a small percent of 4chan's entirety is wasteful. This is a very biased thread, and you should go to the entirety of 4chan, immerse yourself in the whole community like you do here before you block them as a whole.

Sounds to me like you've only been on the most talked about threads, all of which are yes, stupid and offensive. 4chan has a lot more to offer, and it does.

Well, I won't say that for everyone because there are plenty of morons who probably do.

But a lot of the time, memes are actually funny when you understand their origins. I'm not saying some of them don't get old. I always die a little inside every time I see a shoop face and all, but it's not like it's some stupid secret club where it's like WHAT HAPPENS ON 4CHAN STAYS ON 4CHAN.

There are no such thing as 4chan memes. Just internet memes. Or maybe inside jokes that only people who go to 4chan would get, but even then those spread so quickly that they're hardly "inside" jokes anymore.

Just remember that 4chan wasn't the original drug, it's just the one that everyone happened to take. There was a short time where it was hated by Anon, and they all shifted to 7chan for a year.

Also, stupidity is only contributed by the stupid. The coherent on that site tend to provide decent knowledge.

ITT people need to realize that the internet isn't becoming like 4chan. It's just that the quicker people tend to gather on 4chan and catch on to all of the fads before everybody else. You think they're copying you, but they're just a little slower in seeing things that you've already seen.

It's not really so much 4chan itself that causes the problem as it is gremlining because it seems as if it's the absolute coolest thing you can do at this point

granted not everyone is a gremlin but they all seem to have this typical.. attitude about them now that just makes it feel like everyone is either completely stupid or has to be sarcastic, or just isn't a very interesting person at all

Where are all the people who are able to be coherent AND interesting?
