Hey guys, I've been working on a game called Shards of Reality since Mid November, it is a Mario RPG made in RPG Maker. It is a sequel to a past RPG I made called Legends of the Sky World (but it sucks so i wouldn't play it)

The basic story is that the Princess is captured and Mario goes out to find her. However after a couple of weeks of having this same dream of Mario being blown out of Bowser's Castle he decides to go out and look for Mario.

The download is quite big (around 95mb) but it is completely stand alone and requires no extra downloads like the rtp.

Shards of Reality topic is hereby reborn. I've cleaned the topic and give you all a 2nd chance.

Since there is another topic about an RPG Maker Mario game that apparently works I don't see why this wouldn't.

I want to make that clear:
Do not bash this game based on the fact that it's made in RPG Maker. Even in RPG Maker, although it's a limited program, you can create quite original and decent games. And according to the people who have actually played the game it seems that it is better than the screenshots make you think it is.

You are entitled to your opinion, that's no problem. But you should really really avoid to post stuff like ":ugh: another mario rpg maker game". Such comments will, especially when coming in larger numbers, provoke a flame war. And we do not want that.


And a note to qig:
People can't tell that your game is good just by your name. List things that your game has but others don't, something that distinguishes your game from all the others out there, and you reduce the risk of getting bashed. This is just necessary when making a game in a premade engine, especially in this community which has seen many bad games resulting from premade engines and thus is sceptic by nature.




So, discuss qig's game, not his tools, and have fun, as this is the intention of a game.

Hey guys, I just uploaded a small little patch that fixes a pretty minor bug dealing with how the music in the Control Center dungeon plays. It's not gamebreaking, but if you're not passed that dungeon yet, I recommend downloading it.

Such fun.

(Getting locked in there. All teleporters in the other room lead to the upper spot. I can't walk right 'cause the trees are solid. Going down forces me to warp to the other room. fix)

Fixing that right now.
I'll be uploading an all new version of the game that fixes that and a patch for people who already have the game downloaded.

I remember the first topic. When i read it it was locked.

Personally I would play it but not at the moment, a little lazy at the moment but like you said it is made with RPG Maker VX the latest installment. When i used it i never took time to explore RGSS and just looked at it (knowing I had a 30 day trial).

On topic, do you think you could change the two animation thing in battles, battles scenes seem pretty choppy when most of the time (I believe) any battle scene for a game is smooth or as smooth as possible (with a few exceptions and not counting games that lag through the use of particles, a lot of them ).

What exactly do you mean by the two animation thing in battle? Do you mean when a skill is used and an animation shows over whatever is using the skill? If so, I actually think that's a good idea. Just never thought of removing it, I'll go see if I can remove it right now.

Edit: Well that was easy to remove, battles do seem to move faster now to.

It didn't chug the frame rate, it just made the pacing of battles slower.
