A project that I'd plan to complete in 2005, but I ran into some technical difficulties... Now it's back!

Mario's Journey is a fangame that will have some old and new Mario-related elements. The game will also have a RPG feel to it since you'll be able to talk to wondering NPCs and buy items that will help Mario in his quest.

The game will have original graphics. It will also include PXTone music from various Mario games. It has a very flexible engine, a working camera system, and can externally load levels. It will have that Cave Story/The Underside vibe to it. The levels are made with a custom-made level editor that works very similar to The Almighty Paintbrush.

I may release it once I complete the game.

Here are some early screenshots:

@Kamikaze Dynamite: Thanks! biggrin.gif

@Sergeant DeeY: That's why I made a level editor to make creating levels easier (there's a screenshot of the editor in the first post).

You don't need GM to create levels. cool2.gif

Not really sure if this is worthy of bumping my topic, but I've started to work on the HUD. Here's a screenshot of how it looks so far:

Some of you should be familiar with the font style I'm using for the numbers. Do you think the HUD looks dull or good enough? Please let me know.

@Fuzzy: Better luck next time, and thanks!

@Sploder: Thanks!
