Intro
Well its been 2 years since I started this project and I’m here to report that I’ve made little progress over the past year. I attribute that to my OCD when it comes to graphics; I can’t have a pixel out of place. I’ve also been fumbling around with the level selection system, but I finally settled on one just last week.

Story in a Nutshell
A star that has been dormant for eons was awakened by Bowser during a mining expedition and its causing time to flip out. Mario will travel around the Kingdom and defeat ghosts of his past to undo the destruction the Time Star has wrought.

What are some nifty features?
Here’s a list of some of the game’s features, since I know you hate reading paragraphs:
- Custom graphics not used in any other fan game
- Unique powerups such as turning paper-thin oand rolling into a tube
- A simple leveling system is used to increase health
- Coins are put to use: buy extras at the title menu

Any available media?
There was once a demo for download, but it is far too glitchy and outdated for me to repost. There are a plethora of "test room" screenshots and two videos for your viewing pleasure instead. These are outdated as well, but hopefully I can record a new video soon.

How can I help?
Look at me!
Creating every single sprite and programming all of this is an exhausting process, and though I've managed everything so far, I think I'm getting in over my head. I may call for assistance in the future, particularly with backgrounds. There might also be a closed testing session for a few members that are apt at spotting glitches.
In the mean time I'd love suggestions and feedback.

Anything NEW yet you lazy ass??
- Grumba has been removed from the game.
- Graphics have been improved (anti aliasing, etc.)
- World 1-1 is complete and Wold 1-2 has been started

Yes, not a whole lot is there? Those of you who remember my topic from a year ago may be disappointed. Hopefully I can pick up production in the coming months but don't hold your breath on that new demo for quite a bit.

I always loved this, I remember when you first started it.


I'm not particularly good a making backgrounds, but if there are any enemies or characters you need help making I'd be glad to try. I'd love to see this get finished.

Hey, Pucy, I was wondering about that leveling system. You mentioned so far that it's only for the HP. Any other plans for that? (I know it's the not the Paper Mario way) What about attack power or defense?

Ah yes. Well I would need to recode some things, but I have needed to do that for a while now anyways. The only problem with increasing attack is that after 5 levels Mario would be absurdly overpowered (with most enemies only having 1-4 HP). I'd have to think about how to implement more upgrades.

But if you can think of something else to upgrade I'd love to hear it, since I thought only increasing health was too little myself. Just keep in mind that I don't plan on including a badge system.

Maybe you can do a Paper Mario type thing, where you can choose what to upgrade. That way you're forced to balance out what you level up.

edit: wait littlink said it isnt gonna be that nevermind

Also, shouldn't enemies get harder to kill as the game goes on, or how do you work around this?

The enemies will get harder and trickier for sure. I completely forgot enemy color variations and their different abilities, so now I think I have plenty of enemies lined up. I'm tossing in some original enemies like a blob called a Jeli, as well as mixing up a few classic ones like I did with my Hardhat Goomba.

I was afraid this got canned.

Are there going to be partners? Badges? Powerups in the classic Mario sense?

I'd love to knock some ideas around with you. Even If you don't like my ideas, I'd still like to help you with sprites and such.
