Btw, is the Mario in the logo temporary? Because it doesn't make the awesome sprites any justice.

That logo was slapped together months ago. It's not "temporary" per se, but its definitely not appearing in the game.


There, touched it up a little bit. That hammer blur was naaaasty.

Okay, so this is taking forever. I'm needing two sorts of people: background artists and music composers. Here's the scoop.

Background artists
I need simple backgrounds with minimal outlines. Look at the desert background for reference. It can be a little more complex than that (I'm probably going to be adding more to it). Here's a list of criteria:
- no pure black in the image
- dimensions should be 512x480 and the bg should loop
- don't use gradients
- there needs to be 2 layers for parallax scrolling
I'm in need of these backgrounds:
- Grassland; I'd like a papery or simple version of the one I'm currently using
- Snowy; I need both outdoor and cave BGs

Music people
I'm going to be a little less demanding of you. All I need is a melody and I can take it from there. I don't require anything other than a single instrument playing a song. If you want to make a full-out song then okay. I'm using MIDIs, so please keep it in that format.
I need melodies for the following:
- Grassland
- Snowy/Ice
...and I'll update the list if enough of you want to help out.


This is all strictly volunteer work, so don't feel obliged to aide me in my efforts. I'd really appreciate some help though, so the more the merrier. There are no guarantees that your work will make it in, but if you do make the cut you will be listed in the credits.

Specifically what kind of backgrounds? Is it for Grasslands, Castles, etc.

Ah yes, it would have been wise to mention those. I'll update the post now.

Minimalist backgrounds, aww yeahhh. I'll see what I can do.
