Before you make more and more sketches, just make a game. Would be faster.

We actually have 2 ways this could be turn into a game:

2-D platformer(which I think is the orignal mockup)
M&Lish like Adventure(which is my idea haha. Except Luigi is by himself and there is different type of gameplay involved)

And thanks for the comment, bEEtle and what color should I make the orignal skin color since it's too pink...maybe just white with pink shading? And I'll try not to trick you again with that Nintendo stuff lol

Booship: It's a mini doomship, however, it has no cannons and it's really small. You have to use these as platforms. But when you go on it, goo will rise up, making a Boo, so hurry up!

to be honest Funk I really had no intentions of making this into a game to. I just wanted to set up a cool project. Something to get peoples brains moving you know? but who knows we could have a decent game on our hands.

Star a agree it should be a M&L-ish adventure with character and plot development. Twists and turns that make you laugh and surprise you in it's story. Leave you feeling like you've just read an amazing novel, like every game SHOULD be made only i say we do it like a side scroller. Why just go with the norm? the M&L overview adventure is fun but it's been done 3 times over.. nope 4 counting RPG and I'm probably forgetting others...paper mario? I have a few ideas as to how we could make a sidescroller RPG, I'll post some mock sketches hopefully later tonight. I don't want this to be like paper mario either in that sort of side scroller sense. So keep the M&L style but set it to be platformable. heh heh. maybe a sharper look too? I figure if we do everything really new and different we could be onto something peoples! Also we could stray away from the color scheme M&L uses. maybe softer colors? it could give the entire game a different feel then the regular, cartoon, happy go lucky persona... you catch my drift? oh and I'm incorporating a familiar cast. The type of cast that you especially I think will enjoy.

PM2 i like your idea about the platforms but like your other ideas i think this one has kinda been done before. In smb3 there are platforms that boos emerge from. Not the same but similar BUT you did spark my imagination... I'm thinking some sort of doomship/boo thing is in order. Maybe the boos could engulf the ship? turning it into i mass boo destruction vehicle? heh heh. Don't stop with the ideas!

Thwaboo - It's a Thwomp. It'll chase you from the top screen. If he happens to catch up to you, he'll slam into the ground. Sometimes, he'll fly in front of you and then smash, hoping that you would run into him.

Pirhanna Boo Generator - It's a ghastly looking Pirhanna Plant. But instead of shooting fireballs, it shoots Boos and the Bullet Boos.

Zombies - Bodies that doesn't have any souls or free will, allowing Boos to control them. They would do grunt work. Stronger people who was stripped of their free will (such as Mario) would have to do great tasks.

BTW, my services aren't free! You owe me 300 Mushroom Kingdom coins! I need the extra lives!

I swear I'll have an explanation for alot of my weird sketches soon if anyones still interested. heh heh.

Only wondering since the ghouls keep says Luigi needs to be posessed, so I kinda pictured a friendly Boo assisting him.

And as for the style, that's an excellent idea. Though since you want a bit darker style it sounds like, I won't do it exactly as M&L but more of the lines of SPP. It'll be a mix of the two styles in other words. If you want, I could sprite an example of what the style could look like. But first, could you draw Luigi with the new Poltergust? Like a side, front, and back view? And that's all I need to get it started.

Dude, if you're talking about Wario in the cast I will shat bricks.

You know GB I never ever made it passed the first level of DOOM though I wanted too. I only ever had the demo. *sigh* Great first level though. I'll never forget that sound when you get hit of the guy breathing.

There is one boo that will eventually assist you... when I have a more solid idea down I'll post something but in the meantime if you have any ideas Shy go for it!

Star I'll try and get you some sketches as soon as possible. I came up with a new idea since you have 5 other party member eventually. There's more then one ghost defeating device. The polterGust is just one of 5 "ghoul Tools" heh heh It's got a nice ring to it, no? and I didn't want to spoil it but yeah I was thinking wario would be a party member BUT there's a weird twist.

what would happen to a mind so evil when even more evil is combined?...perhaps an overload would occur and the 2 would cancel each other out?...

I have so much stuff I want to share with you guys! I came up with the beginning of the possible game to the first boss, controls, a topsey turvey plot, character surprises, the worlds... oh man it's been fun just thinking and sketching. I havn't been at my HOME home in a week though. I've been working for my job's OTHER location and it's been a bit of a dampre in the ways of my art. I don't have any of my tools for creation aswell as the time to put solid things together. I'm going to say by next tuesday I'll have a mini one page site created (freewebs BUT still cool) up that will be the main headquarters for where all these ideas end up. A page thats organized and allows you see see the overview of everything clearly. I'll give credit to everyone who participated and just all that fun goodness. anyways I'm off!

I was going to make some bosses a bit creepy but yeah, you'll love their complicated but cool design.

as apposed to the happy, cheerful bosses we've all come up with so far? heh heh heh. just don't do melting flesh or blood. I don't think we need that level of creepy you know? Can't wait to see what you got. I like complicated but cool. Also realize that if we want to do a side scroller boss it can't be hude... wait... i guess it could. Like a play on shadow of the collosus? Those swamp things that DJ came up with could be something like that? OH MAN! I just had a huge idea! anyways think of alot of parts to attack and bosses that take a few steps to beat using their surroundings. Maybe you have to climb certain areas to kill it faster... or float over gaps attack the boss from a better angle or... trap it in an area by going invisible or...knock things to crush a part of an enemy?

I am creating a giant cyclops looking boss (Been playing to much God of War recently) and a boss called Church Crawler.

Crappy concept art of what I think should be the first boss. The boo titan. I massive cyclops boo monster that is so huge it fill up two screens. Let me make a bigger more detailed picture for you.

Luigi, king mallow, 'possessed wario' (which is a good wario... he gets that way from an overdose of evil) Geno is his star form (you have a series of dolls he can take the forms of) bowser junior, froggy the flower person and king boo.
