Ok so i'm at a pretty good point with this. Here's a little list of the minigames i've got pretty good engines for or basic ideas coded:

- Girder Climb: Basically you climb up a very high tower made of girders, avoiding enemies and obstacles as you go. The only thing holding this one back is trying to add an element of randomness so people can't memorise the level and re-do it over and over for cheap money.

- Kutout Koopa Kids: Your average shooting gallery, i've got enemies and things set up for it, shouldn't be hard to make.

- Dr. Mario Attack: Basically a clone of Yoshi's Cookie, just trying to implement something to make it unique.

- Picture Perfect: A 4*4 set of panels that you need to match up to a picture, pretty simple.

- Rock Paper Scissors: The only thing holding THIS back is me not having M&L style hands to show, and I can't be bothered spriting any.

- Treasure Hunt: Trying to work out a decent way to do this minigame, basically you have to dig when you see a ! pop up above your head, but sometimes you dig up random garbage. You're trying to dig up fruit to bring to Yoshi for coins.

- Shell Stacker: Carry a stack of shells above your head, more points for the more shells you have in your stack but sometimes bombs or other things need to be avoided, and you move slower depending how many you have. Basic engine done, just need to put more thought into it.

- Block Stacker: Blocks come out of pipes and you have to jump on them to stop them from moving. The higher the stack, the more coins. Need to randomise it a little or add more challenge.

- Minecart Madness: Ride in a 2D minecart and collect coins as you go, avoid enemies or you'll lose. Basic engine is done, this minigame WAS almost done before I lost it so i've had to remake it from scratch. It'll have more in it later.

Any ideas to flesh out these ideas is welcome, but for now it's just insight as to where i'm at.

Not really... I just do whatever I can within my limits to make the minigames fun. I also set out from the start to make all the sprites fit. It's a pet peeve of mine =P

2 most recent worked on minigames. Both nearly finished, just adding additional challenges to them etc, the fish one needs more challenge to it right now but i'm not sure what.

Block Stacking, basically a minigame I stole from Mario Party Advance, but mine's better =P

Fish shooting, don't let 'em get to you! They swim at you and you knock them away with bullet bills. Some fish puff up and become harder to knock away.

Well the fish minigame is basically done, it's another high-score enabled minigame and it's actually quite challenging so I think people will like it. Also the tower minigame is almost done too, I added bullet bills for some randomness.

Next on the list is possibly the minecart minigame.

Aye. It seems a shame really, not as many people care to look in the Fangame Discussion recently, so it's hard to gauge how many people care if I finish it, but it is nice when people say they're excited.

Don't forget that there's a largely disjoint community on the main site that slobbers over new games (good and bad).

I kind of wish we could bring some of THAT community here in a way. At least those that are smart enough to post well, it really doesn't feel like a lot of this forums members are here for the right reasons.

From the comments I've seen I think the intelligence quotient on the forums are a few pegs higher. But those that do filter in for fangame reasons do tend to stick to the fangame discussion board.

Maybe I just kinda miss when everyone here seemed to be working on a fangame or something and people would get excited.

Well, if they're like me they've just been jaded from the Hello clones, so unless there's a specific person making the game (like Pucifer) I usually don't check the stuff.

Aye, it's one of my new favourites, here's a screen of the completed one. Fully finished, implemented and high-score-systemed. It gets really hectic as the game goes on, looking forward when I finally release this to see what kinds of scores people get.

On a side note, i've begun work on the minecart racing one. Need to think of a few good obstacles for this, i've got falling platforms, thwomps and spikes falling from the roof. Also planning on having lava come up from the floor in some places. Need ideas though.

I think you need to either make the screen smaller, or detail the environments more. A lot of the pictures feel open and empty.
