There's absolutely no reason to use the real game over, say, ShoddyBattle, though (except stall and heart swap). If you want to use your ingame team it's really easy to recreate

I don't remember a whole clause being dedicated to that, I always thought it was a general rule in the game period.

Some people do not own the games for multiple reasons, and it would be quite unfair for them to miss out. We could have a Shoddy Battle and a D/P/P division.

With net/shoddybattle you can have any pokemon at any level you want, but most people stick with the default 100
