To put this bluntly, I and the other staff members have seen too much of this and it's stopping now. These kinds of posts are not acceptable on this board, especially when this is the only reply to a quote that you're giving.

Posts like these are generally as nasty as the posts they're in reply to, sometimes even more so. There's no reason for it, no excuse you could possibly offer that makes these kinds of posts acceptable, and there's no place for it here. If I, or any other of the moderation staff catch any more of these kinds of posts you'll be given a verbal warning either by post or PM, and if you repeat these kinds of posts you'll be banned for a few days, increasing in severity if you repeat this kind of action. If there is a misunderstanding though on ANY of these warnings we give you, feel free to point them out to whoever warned you and we'll take a look and see if we were wrong. If it turns out we just misjudged a post, well that's our fault and we take full responsibility.

Don't let this discourage you from posting ratings when used in CONTEXT though, like if you want to rate someones art 10/10 for example, you're welcome to, so long as your post contains more substance than a simple rating.

Seriously, keep it civil and we won't have problems! But if you can't learn to get along with one another and deal with disagreements or opinions in a civil way, you'll have to learn the hard way, and none of us want that but it's really the only way.

So lets all get along and post nicely yeah? Feel free to use this topic to discuss this with us all but I doubt the opinions on this'll budge any.

Is stuff like 'you're kidding right' or calling people out on something ok? OR is that the same sort of thing?

This place gets dangerously close to being 4chan sometimes.

This was also brought up and we're still discussing it but i'd personally like to see it stop being used. The only thing that makes it different is that it's sometimes not used in a way that's rude.

BUT it probably shouldn't be tolerated in the General Chat. That forum is for discussion and posts that contain nothing but:

are basically spam.

I also propose the prohibition of "reaction images"

so the people trying to troll get away scott free.

But they're not going to get away scott free anyway, it's not hard to ignore someone who's being a jerk, two wrongs never make a right. Besides, anyone defending that kind of post is just making excuses, this topic is about stopping that, we'll make a brand new topic on the trolls themselves soon enough i'm sure. We're discussing trolling and other things as we speak so i'm sure soon you can expect some more measures and changes etc

I'll have to agree to this because they are way too overused here to the point of annoyance. Plus most reaction images posted are old /v/ images...

I'm all for removing troll ratings, those are ridiculous, and primarily used for trolling, which is against the rules.

Greentexting is used as a more efficient means of quoting. It should be fairly obvious when someone is using it to troll and using it to participate in a discussion.

I'm all for getting rid of reaction images outside of the CCC.

I'm not defending troll ratings, I'm just saying that they're not the problem. I don't really care if they stay or go, as far as I'm concerned. All I'm saying is that trolls are the root of the' problem', so if you're bothered about troll ratings, surely the best thing to do is get rid of the trolls?

But you've answered that question already, so thanks for clearing that up.

the problem is that they use it so much it's hard to tell when they're trolling now.

the troll rating is used to troll (essentially saying "your opinion/post/whatever is so stupid you must be trolling"- a troll post in itself) more than anything else. I don't really see it being used productively, ever. It won't be missed.

I must say I'm guilty of doing the troll-rating thing occasionally in the past. So I apologize.


On the subject of reaction images, IMO they should definitely be banned in the GC, since they are overt spam and yet some people have gotten away with posting them there in the past.

Though maybe I shouldn't be talking since I was part of the troll-rating problem, so....

I think a lot of people in this topic are guilty of using them, Grant.


Before I asked, I used to think that x/10 was a measurement of how good the rater thought the post was. So I was going around like an idiot giving 10/10 to good posts :S

Green text quotes should stay in my opinion, the rest can go.
