let's see if I can just give some pointers for each one of these (you make it increasingly difficult to do so, though; I love how you've improved) Hand: The middle finger's nail should be a bit more off to the side, and the thumb should be quite a way's larger. If you're really interested in hand study there's whole books on it, or you could just get one of those wooden pose-able hand models at a ritzy art store. Adam: Good referential piece, faithfully followed. Now I recommend you take his anatomical style and apply it to a different pose. Jesus: Ears extend from roughly the top of the eye to the top of the upper lip, in terms of level. I also think, personally, that the beard should cover the chin more thickly. Bridge: The perspective on this piece comes off to me as odd: it's thick on the right but barely used on the left. The river, therefore, appears to go into nowhere behind the bridge while the path seems to get smaller rather than farther away. But I exaggerate. One easy thing you could do to improve this piece: replace the rocky texture with a brick one. I'm certain it'll make the bridge feel more defined and more three-dimensional. Forest wtf: The scenery is beautiful, and I really only have a few minor qualms. - The innocent people aren't nearly noticeable enough. I had to look over it again to find them.
- I can't quite tell what the posing on that troll is. If he's facing the camera, his right hand seems to be grabbing the tree very awkwardly, and his left hand is just on backwards. If he's facing away, then the back of his body and his left leg should be shaded a lot differently.
Space wtf: Very impressive. Few things remain odd though. - The astronauts. Their helmet designs are very simple--more simple than they should be, under any occasion. Also, for the foreground of the piece, the front-and-center astronaut is extremely unimpressive. Are those color blotches on him insignias, or wounds? More importantly, why is he just standing there? Considering the (moon/base/moonbase/space coffee shop) is being attacked, he should be running in terror, or fighting, or saving a comrade--not just chilling for the camera like it's a publicity shot for CBS. Action, dammit!
- The UFOs. Considering the sharpness of the tripods and my uninformed assumption that they come from the same evil intergalactic pricks, the UFOs should look a lot shinier and sharper. Also, they'd look more menacing if they flew level--UFOs usually do that, anyway.
- The lasers. I myself had quite a problem with lasers when I was working on my C64 piece (the one with NYC, if you remember it) and I had similar problems. First, the explosions don't do the piece credit. Watch an action film or something--that's not how explosions look. Second, the way the lasers work makes no logical sense to me. The beam is darker when it leaves the machines--why is that? Wouldn't it make more sense if it got weaker over distance? Third, the angle of that blast from the UFO and the angle of the UFO itself mismatch. Angles that aren't divisible by 90 are a ***** in pixelart, and both you and I know this, but it throws me off nonwithstanding.
Swamp wtf: I think this piece is too big for its own good. For the amount going on in it, I personally think it'd be better suited to a canvas the size of the other works here, or given a lot more **** going on. - The monster. Overtly generic. Plus I don't like how the horns are different sizes. It just doesn't seem natural--it seems more like an error. Also that hand is ****ed up and you know it, and really? One nipple?
- The guy. He appears more like he's sitting on the monster's fist than being clenched to death.
- The forest. WIP, I won't ***** yet.
- The swamp. Put more junk in it.
Bear in mind: it's once in a blue moon that I give this much attention to anyone, ever. Your work truly blows me away and I had to think pretty hard to come up with anything pertinent. Grats on becoming better than me. Now KEEP ****ING GOING, COMRADE
