"Topic" is the subject of the sentence; it is a basic common noun implying that we are discussing a topic (namely, this topic, as outlined above) and leading to the predicate, wherein the actual opinion is contained.

"Sucks" is a colloquialism describing "topic," and the entire center of this post. Bacteriophage, in this post, is basically attempting to express discontent with the topic in general.

In layman's terms, this topic basically is completely worthless and, therefore, pardon me, ****ty.
