I'm thinking of getting a tablet for drawing - nothing too fancy and expensive, but it gets the job done.

What do you guys use, and can you give me some suggestions?

I have a 3x4 Graphire 4 that I brought on July 17, 2007.

Get a really cheap tablet (like a wacom bamboo). They cost around 80 dollars at Best Buy.

"Bamboo One" is a good choice.
There are more expensive Bamboos with handwriting/signature recognition, but if you just wanna draw, get a "Bamboo One".
Comes with "Art Rage", the best drawing tool ever.

So this is bamboo: http://www.wacom.com/bambootablet/bamboo.php

and this is bamboo fun: http://www.wacom.com/bambootablet/bamboofun.php

Any one better than the other? I mean, this would be for artwork, which doesn't seem to go with normal bamboo.

Also, is 512 levels or pressure sensitivity good?

Are there any big advantages of spending 20 dollars more for the bamboo fun?

Also, do either mspaint or paint.net have pressure sensitive capability?

Mspaint don't, don't know about paint.net. And the one I mentioned is my first and only tablet, so I don't know if it's worth the extra 20 bucks

k, cool.

And one more question.

http://archive.mfgg.net/index.php?sh...c=235700&st=120

Is you look at Raie, Tri, Soiy and Hatman's entries in the comp, you'll notice that one colour isn't really a consistant shade. So, the artist obviously isn't changing the colour a tiny bit for every few pixels... So what are they doing?

I've been wondering about this technique for a while...

It sort of automatically does this for me on open canvas. What's it doing?
