Just become an American Manga artist, get picked up by like Darkhorse or something, and bam, you'll actually have money.

If you wanted to move to Japan and get a job, you'd probably have a better time becoming an ESL teacher. Because they actually make money.

I may be a noob about these things, but if I make a manga that becomes really popular and a hit, and company's begin making toys and games of my manga, then won't I make alot more money? Think like Dragonball merchandise, they sold a whole lot.

It's very unrealistic to think that you can work for Shonen Jump, if you're not of Japanese descent. The closest thing you can do is self-publish your own stuff, or find some kind of American magazine that publishes "American-made-manga".

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you have no way of achieving that goal, if you're not Japanese. But on the bright side, it's still not impossible to make your own series in America. I mean, there's quite a few authors out there that got their stuff published, and became well-known titles, even though they're not Japanese.

afaik you only hit it big if you're an anime illustrator. But by all menas start off with manga so you can get your foot in the door.

Just asking, but do you have proof that if I'm not Japanese then I can't join Shonen Jump?

Make something cool and new.
Seriously, do something NEW, something that grabs me by the throat the moment I open the comic book.

I don't give a **** what style you use, where you make or how you make it. As long it's something interesting.

There actually IS a difference between comics and manga. Manga and comics have different panel layouts and style.

CRAP quoted the wrong post.

Nothing. I'm not doubting you, and I think your optimism is great, but it's not as easy as 'learning Japanese, drawing stuff, get accepted into Shonen Jump, make ****loads of ez monay', especially for a baka gaijin. It'll take you years to get into Shonen Jump, regardless of your skill. Get a decent-payed job, and as a hobby make manga comics. Sell them for a while. You'll make **** money, but you may get your name on the street. Then you can go to Japan and live your dream once you have a good port-folio and a nice CV.
