Look, kremling, you seem to be... give or take 14 years old. You know, when I was your age, I had the same vision you have right now.

But let me tell ya: I actually tried to contact those mother****ers. I actually mailed them. I actually used contacts in Japan. I was even planning to go there in person to check things out. Want me to tell you how it all went? ... Thought so.

Trust me. Change your mind now. This we've all been trying to tell ya is THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'LL EVER GET ON THE DAMN SUBJECT. We're not trolling you, we're not trying to be annoying or bullies, we're not trying to break your heart.

You're better off posting art in DeviantArt and LiveJournal, where you may get attention, be popular, and actually make good publishing contacts... if you're good, that is.

People can be what ever they wish to be, it's if they think they can do it, Then they will receive it!

Why crush his hopes? I know he can do it! I have the same passion, I got into drawing at his age and look at me now. I'm going to college studying Illustration. I went to the Academy of Art University and I am about ready to set my dreams and goals.

Yeah, but you weren't planning on trying to get into a company that pretends you're not there unless you're slightly tanned, with eyes tending to slant, black hair, inferiority complex, willingness to do whatever you're ordered, and your name consists of 3~4 characters that require more than 2 minutes to be written properly without a computer

She(?) has a point. I think you should go for it, kremling, don't let anyone hold you back just because they think it's unlikely. If you think you have what it takes, go for it. I just think that you're slightly misinformed about what you need to do. It's going to be a lot harder than you make it out to be.

Because going to college to study what you want is comparable to actually getting a good position in a good career doing what you love.

Also why the hell to so many kids want to draw Manga? It's the most uninspired, unoriginal drawing style there is. The fact that you can classify an entire country's art style proves this.

Well, it's a big step, Most major companies won't hire you unless you have at least one major.

Being optimistic is good, if people were negative about it and think that they wont get a good position, then they wont get a good position.
