Is this kind of thing necessary? Come on designers, come up with good innovations for games, turning the game into a movie is not a good innovation.

Within 2 hours I will probably be neutral towards this, its just got some stupidity involved.

If people are really going to discuss this again, you may as well just bump the other topic, since it was already posted!

Since you don't have to use it, you can complete the whole game without even knowing this feature is in the game, so it can't be negative.

Its not a bad feature.Youre right, zonic. it helps Newbs. besides, why would a hardcore gamer use it? But it should only like show you a little movie in the corner, or maybe spawn a CPU to show you hiow its down. i will most likely not use it-(with the exception of water levels,) but like I said, not a bad feature.

It's an interesting idea. I first heard of this in the latest Nintendo Power that had an interview with Miyamoto.

He also said that Mario, Luigi, and the Toads are the only playable characters. That broke my heart

Its probably the second real mario game where you can play as toad for more then 2 minutes.

But they have the yoshis+koopa kids, so that=good.

Math?Just kiddin im a kid (9 years old) and ive beaten MLSSS in 20 hours. I beat it as a level 39.Believe it or not, kids are better then most adults.AND im great at math.

If one part is too hard, just skip it!


And since difficulty in games progresses, if you skip one part you most likely won't be able to do something after it either, so you can just keep skipping until the end!

I suppose that what I'm disscussing is a broader problem in the gaming industry than just "demo play"

I'm incenced at the direction gaming is taking as a whole that this is the newest thing.

If it does that to me, I'm gonna restart the dang game. Assuming it's optional though, I'll turn demo play off. There's no way I'm gonna let the game play for me. I wouldn't call myself a gamer.

There is so much 'gamer pride' emitting in this thread.

Nearly every so-called "hardcore gamer" already does this with arcade games, it's not like this is a new concept for them.

Maybe put some kinda limit on it. Like once a level, for only 30 seconds or something. That way, you learn to conserve it for later parts of the level, and learn to get through the part you originally had to use it on.
I'm thinking that as long as there is some sort of catch or limitation, I'm okay with it.

Or they should take, let's say, 100 points away per second and you won't be able to pick up any power ups, get points or any extras like the star coins.
This way you may have to rationalize this feature.

Using VG Cats to prove a point is a bad idea.

Wow! Why didn't anyone think of this earlier?

I'm just pissed that I spent all those countless days in my room mastering video games, making all those countless jumps, finding secret shortcuts, and even biting my fingernails off from the difficulty of our generation's games, and then these little ****wipes can just press a button and win.

You guys are upset at this new feature as if video games were a profesional sport. All Nintendo seem to be trying to do are make video games more accessable to people, instead of making Mario, Zelda, etc, "exclusive" to "hardcore gamers". I don't see the problem with this at all. It's an optional feature for those not good at games.
