Catalyst Group: Members Posts: 18290 Member No.: 52 Joined: 13-October 03 Status: (0d)	My Canon PowerShot S3 IS is a great camera, terrifically versatile with good zoom and optics, but it's just too damn big to carry around most places (especially since I lost the trim bezel around the lens and now I have to keep a bulky lens adapter attached to it at all times to protect it). So I finally ordered myself a new ultra-compact. Not my first color preference but being last year's model it was getting difficult to find in stock (and forget brick and mortar shops they don't even carry it). It's slightly larger than a credit card, and about 7/8" thick. Something I should be able to carry on me at all times. Hell it supposedly has a decent macro mode too, think of all the bugs I can show you with this! And for comparison, it's a camera standoff! My S3 with a lens adapter and macro lens converter attached. I took this picture with the SD1100 and clearly the picture quality isn't as good as what I took above with the S3. The S3 does a much better job showing you all how filthy the surface of my desk actually is. --------------------

well to be honest it's more for things like photographing the baby turkeys I saw on my bike trips or other interesting things ... though that's not to say I won't ignore a cool spider if I see one.
