Controls:

You must have your hatch open to shoot.

Up - Up Arrow or W
Down - Down Arrow or S
Open Hatch - Ctrl, Left Arrow, or A
Shoot - Space, Right Arrow, or D
NEW! Use Powerup - Shift

Your armor will protect you from bullets, but only while it's closed. And explosions can still damage your armor, so be careful.

This demo contains the first level, with one boss. After the boss, it just kind of doesn't end.

If you die, the game just soft resets for now.

UPDATE:
Uploaded a new demo.

New features include a SHAWN powerup. If you get a shawn head, you can press shift to make Shawn appear and destroy many things.

It's still just the first level, but with subtle tweaks here and there.

Christ, how did this get overlooked so much?!


ANYWAY, there's so many good things here. The graphics are awesome, the AI is pretty darn good, the difficulty is ideal, and the game is fun.


If anything I'd have to say the game's selling point is the music. Did you make it?? It's TOTALLY radical! 8)

My only complaint is that movement feels a bit stiff and constricted. Perhaps 'cause I can't move sideways?


Either way PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE continue it; I'd love to see more come out of this!!

Also yeah, the main complaint is that you can't move left and right.

My issue with that is that I would have to completely change the AI if I let you do that. Otherwise you could just kind of chill behind the boss and never die.

Thanks for the comments though. As for the music, no, I wish I made it. But it's from an overlooked HAL Game called Star Soldier.

Holy crap. This game is nine parts win and one part... awesome.
I absolutely love shmups like this, and this one stands out with its great graphics (the boss is just sick, man : P), spectacular choice of music, and well-done AI.
Bravo, I say. Bravo. Please do not cease work on this, sir!

Yeah, this is pretty damn fun, for what it is. I think it's a little too difficult, but I'm not used to these type of games so I probably wouldn't know.
