Because mods lock threads for silly reasons.

It's kind of like when you're having a slightly heated discussion with your brother or sister and then your parents are tired of you talking so you they yell "STOP ARGUING, YOU TWO."

And then one of you chimes in like "we weren't really arguing" and then your parents are like "Well then shut up, I have a headache."

Not really. Some people like arguing. You can learn a lot from arguments. Nobody "wins", per se, you just keep making points back and forth and eventually everybody's smarter.

nobody wins and

a. you have more conflict with whoever you were arguing with
b. you have more conflict with the mods
c. you have more conflict with every one else because you made yourself and the other guy look stupid because the whole thing was pointless anyways

and then restart argument several times over in a capacity of one year

Then, when asked why they believe that's true they say "common sense" or, "because it does" or, something else completely stupid. This is why we argue. So, we can get those guys to shut up and hopefully we can go back to discussing the subject somewhat, if not completely, reasonably. I'm all for reasonable opinions. I'm not for "I believe this because what I say goes!"
