Who is responsible for the site? It* is so ugly I almost threw up!

* The source code - I don't care how visually appealing it is.

Well, other people look at the visuals and not the source code, so that doesn't really mean anything.

Not to mention have seen some of the source code to official games? Scary ****, it is.

Looks clean enough for me. If I was going to fault it I'd say it looks a bit boring in comparison to early years but I'm not going to fault it because it's about the fangames.

granted SAGE will probably have a website that surpasses it by leaps and bounds but they had made 11 expos before NCFC so it's understandable.

it's a little simple, yeah, but that was by design.

I hate sites that have stuff flying in your face everywhere and as a consequence end up annoying to browse

and I figured hey this is my first time working on this, I'll do things how I think will be cool and listen to feedback for future endeavors

so yeah if you have any specific issues with it, speak up, because it'll really help me and ncfc as well out.

Get rid of the center tag (change it to p or something) and change Transitional to Strict and it will be perfect. Sorry for sounding rude.

They used a center tag?! Shame on them! That is not a part of the standards anymore, and it is highly discouraged to use it.

center tag is standard in xhtml transitional ;p (I didn't put the center tag there anyway, but eh whatever, it's transitional for a reason)

transitional because it's likely the booths will be hosted on site if all goes well, and keeping it transitional keeps those codes they've been trying to phase out but people still use usable. I think it'd be unfair to make people focus on webpage coding over their fan game project.

technically <center> IS fan-html

but there's no reason to complain about it if all the major browsers render it perfectly

it's like walking in and saying "NINTENDO WOULD NEVER MAKE A MARIO GAME IN MMF2"

what do you mean by that? it's an actual tag, it's just not recommended for use as w3 wants to depreciate it in favor of other tags that do the same thing http://w3schools.com/tags/tag_center.asp

w3's recommendations sadly mean nothing though, considering the XHTML 1.0 standard came out in 2000 and people still haven't fully adopted it.

Does anyone think a "Storyline writing" booth thing would be a good idea? A bunch of the writers on MFGG (such as me, Mrs. A, and I know there are a lot of others) could come up with a bunch of tips and things on teaching people how to write a good backstory/storyline for their games; a lot of fan games have really boring, overused, or insane stories, so it could be really helpful

edit: also, I obviously can't speak for the other writers on here, but I know i'd like to do it, and I'd probably need help; I may be good at some things but I know I'm not perfect, so it'd be good collaboration that we could all work on together, if they're interested

there will be workshop registration if you want to run one of those. Yours sounds like a pretty cool idea, try and contact other people you have in mind if you don't think you can handle it yourself. I'm sure it'd help out people who are interested in making better stories for their games.

I think that would be a great idea though I'm not sure what the others would think. I'll give them a message later about what can and can't be accepted for a workshop.
