He's going to call the DMV and cancel my road test that was going to be next Tuesday. (for my driver's license.)
Wanna know why? I've driven him around a countless number of times in either my highlander or the family mini-van or my brother's car. No problems at all. Today, he told me to drive him to the dump in his pick-up truck. Now, he didn't quite tell me his pick-up truck is a beast and jumps up to 50 MPH if you so much as even touch the gas pedal. And, he didn't exactly tell me that it takes much longer for a truck to brake and slow down compared to a car or mini-van so I had to jam on the brakes at times. Also, it takes wider turns than I originally thought it would. Then, there was this four-way stop. You know, first one there gets the right of way. I got there and no one else is there so I begin to pull out and some ****ing lady zips right through the four-way stop almost causing me to hit her. Then, my step dad blames me for it and claims I'm not ready to take the Road Test. And, as we speak, he's canceling the appointment.
Well excuse me for not being experienced in driving a beastly truck, while I'm able to drive my highlander and other vehicles without any complaints.
It doesn't make any sense to not allow me to get my license because I drove somewhat not so well in a vehicle I'm never going to drive. Also, apparently he doesn't know the four-way stop rules because he says it's my fault for almost hitting that lady. Well that's bull****. I don't have a job, so I'm going to have to pay the cancellation fee with the money I saved up for the road test. Then, I have to wait forever until I get enough to pay for the test again.

| QUOTE (Fiddy Three @ Jul 14 2009, 04:18 PM) | That's exactly how my step dad's truck is. I blame Toyota.
That's what I told him. Hell, that was probably the last time I'll drive it too. But, he went all "You're going to blame the car you're driving if you get in an accident?" |
Sometimes that's what happens. He's one of those people that thinks if you get into an accident it's 100% your fault, isn't he? Spoilers: A good amount of the time you're looking out for other people on the road who don't know how to drive, that's really all it boils down to. More than half of my "almost-accidents" were caused by other people being ignorant terrible drivers. This post has been edited by Paji on Jul 14 2009, 03:22 PM
