The reason I keep missing so many notes is because of the video lag.
Should I continue with this?

I dunno it looks pretty lame.
Rhythm games are all about flashy lights and quick action with pretty visuals

This looks like a rundown version of guitar hero with bad graphics. Also, it goes pretty slow for a rythm-type game. Maybe if you used faster songs and better graphics, but the way it looks right now wont do.

Some songs are quicker than others. And I have to put programming before worrying about fancy graphics.

okay, thats a good idea. But right now, it seems quite simple overall. I suggest that if you plan on adding some new stuff that other Rythm games dont have, you should continue.

Agreed. Try Something more simple like Dance Dance Revolution. Then we'll think about it.

We have Stepmania for that kind of ordeal =p
And I'm no GH player, but that does share a vast similarity.
Also, you should set it up where the note hit percentage rises from 0 and goes up instead of having it decrease.

I'm not available for battling at this time, because Nintendo thought it was a good idea to completely remove Ditto hunting from Pokemon Platinum.

You've got a good sense of how the notes should be, which is good.

But it looks like you're loading the ini file according to the notes being however you placed them in real-time, rather than based on the tempo.

You need to program a template of "bars" that represent each beat and then place notes in accordance to that, so you don't get random gaps between notes, making it look lousy (and making it more difficult for someone playing to the music to actually play to the music).
