okay updated the zip which should hopefully work for vista/7 now (does for me at least)

not sure if it'll help the jacked-up display for some of you, though

apparently vista/7 don't like having depth mask disabled for some reason

Worked fine, but it's not really as smooth as your reference. I assume it's because of my PC or drivers, but it's still different from the reference so here.

that's p weird because i'm not even resizing that image

may be related to blending or something

or mipmaps MAYBE but i'm pretty sure those are disabled

EDIT: it's also not power of two which could cause some drivers to throw up probably

well in the meantime you can fix it yourself by replacing logo.png with another texture with the same name

but yes i need to find some easy way to let me use non-^2 textures that won't involve 75% of the pixels being waste

You have two choices. Resample the image before loading it as a texture, or load it into a valid texture size that can fully contain it, and then translate your texture coordinates to the area of the subimage.

You should also test for their version of OpenGL and what they support.

changing the texture coordinates is one thing i was thinking of doing especially for bitmap fonts, but i'm just hoping that having to map whatever-number-pixels to a 0-1 range isn't going to bite me in the ass somehow, though i think ^2 values in the ranges i'd be using (64-128-256) would be fine for the most part

if worse comes to worse i'll probably have to split nonconforming textures into ^2 tiles reassembled during runtime and i don't think i want to go that route

but yeah thanks for reminding me about the version/feature test because i'd probably forget about that
