Yes like forwarding it to moderator's inboxes where they can reply with copout responses, direct you to another moderator who will direct you to another moderator, or completly ignore you. And might I add, here's the kicker, say that you're the only one who has a problem because the members can't discuss it and they can't tell who has issues with what or not.

This board hasn't been doing this until just recently?

Discussions are better as opposed to seeing it in random threads or in someone's sig and you can really see how big the issue really is to the members of the forum, whom without, mods wouldn't have a purpose. Just because you don't like that members are complaining, doesn't mean their complaints shouldn't be voiced and it certainly doesn't mean that they should be erased.

The source of all of this drama is what the admins and mods say, you know. Like everyone's been saying, they mean well, but what we're getting is a system that results in things like pointless rules and ridiculous bans.

And these rules and bans being adjusted is really all this place needs to get rid of the drama. For example (and JUST an example, as I don't know exactly what happened), instead of permabanning ZeldaMalon for his one "flame" and his bad posting style (which really wasn't bad at all, it was just... playful, for lack of a better word), maybe PM him and let him know that he needs to shape up.

You have it a little wrong - people aren't causing any annoyances. The annoyances are the effect of this flawed system.

We just re-wrote the rules so there would be no more people trying to take advantage of any gray area or loopholing.

If examples of things that can get you banned are listed, people will find a way to go around them and do other things. Encompassing everything into one category makes things more flexible, and is up to the mods and admins' decision. And they're not going to be unfair about it, these things are talked about.

Chances are you're not going to get banned unless you spam or bother in a negative way, which is what is trying to be stopped.

By the way I will say that this last chance list is also an unnecessary source of drama and severity of offense should be what gets you permabanned. Not any of these petty excuses to get rid of members I guess the mods might deem a little annoying.

Some might consider completely shrugging off everything everyone has to say is a bit childish. :/

So you're saying someone with a Draco-esque banlist shouldn't be permabanned because they only did a little flame?

So being annoying to people (small thing) 20+ times over and over wouldn't get you permabanned?

That's the kind of thing that after it happens enough, needs to stop.

Like I mentioned before, troll ratings and reaction images in the CCC are a perfect example of something that are harmless, yet banworthy without a warning. Neither are negative at all (at least in the CCC, where they'd be used as jokes mostly), but you can be banned for them on the spot, no questions asked.

Nobody that has been banned for either of those two things has deserved it (except the ones who deliberately are trying to break the rules), especially since most of them occured in the CCC.

They aren't. But in the CCC, what harm are things like reaction images they causing?

Length of ban vs. severity of ban.

A ban log is acquired over time, over many often minor things.


A ban log is never shortened despite the severity of the actions within.



So are you saying that a bunch of minor bans acrued over time should automatically score you a permaban and severe offenses should be punished lightly, because it's someone's first offense? I can't think of any specific examples, but I am sure this has happened many times and it has never made any sense.

CCC shouldn't be used as an excuse to break rules. I'm a little tired of "but it's in the CCC so it's a joke" because that gets abused to high heaven sometimes.

Saying there are some pointless rules is not the same as saying rules are pointless.

What if you made it a rule that nobody can use the letter "e" seven times in succession?

Would that not be a pointless rule?

The point people are trying to make is that a lot of other rules are starting to tread on that territory.

well a lot of members view the CCC as a place for jokes, so it's not really an excuse, that's just how they view the board

overall though if you guys want this place to be more serious, the CCC can and will only cause trouble

Pulling the spam card out of nowhere on something like reaction images that have been around forever seems a little ludicrous, I'm sorry.

You're pushing to be stricter to prevent "MFGG from getting away with everything", but you're focusing on trivial, silly things.

Well this is in the rules, regardless of how people feel about the CCC

It's there because we don't want people viewing the CCC as a way to break rules. It's meant to be casual and friendly discussion, not AHM BREAKIN RULES ZONE.

If they want this to place to be more serious, they're going to have to call it something like "Public Forum for Well-Thought-Out Discussion of Current affairs" rather than "Mario Fangame Galaxy".

Then why are reaction images all of the sudden RULE BREAKINZ, when they never were before? They have been a part of many "friendly, casual" discussions and have generally caused no harm!

But certain rules make no sense there. The CCC is a relaxed place, where people go to just have fun. Banning something like reaction images, especially in a topic where numerous people were having a good time at nobody elses expense... I just don't understand that.

I mean, if you mod that the place the same way you mod every other board, it would turn into a copy of the GC.
