Tri should've locked this from the beginning, because if he does it now, he'll wind up looking like yet another mod that just locks/deletes/edits things to look better.

Poor Tri probably didn't even know what he was getting into when he became a new moderator...

If he'd locked it from the beginning people would've pissed and moaned that "omg admins making decisions and not allowing discussion on it".

Tri didn't lock the topic, because he wanted to see if his post helps the situation.
Apparently it didn't do anything except for stirring up more drama.

Something I want to tell you guys is that through all the drama I've seen on MFGG, everything seems to work out for everyone in the end.

In the end, nobody will leave, almost nothing will change, and everyone who *****ed and moaned will be end up being content. (Content enough to live with it at least)

Well I dunno about this WE business but I certainly still hear people complain when a topic's posted in here that's locked from the start. And personally I agree, I like discussion.

I didn't say people appreciated it I said they were accustomed to it.

Oh well then it doesn't matter much then, if they don't appreciate it, an open topic is a welcome change.

Ehh, I prefer it to just turning my back to the problem at hand and silencing all people that make mention of it with bans, warns, edits, and the like.

I feel acknowledging a problem gets you a step closer to solving it. At least closer than [/s]sending it to a mod to be ignored[s] ignoring it as per rule 9:

Anyways, I'd better hush up before more people try to scapegoat me for all this silly, circular drama. I hope this gives you some food for thought, but I think rtsmarty's diagnosis of the situation is a pretty accurate one, to be frank.
