I know I don't have the authority, but I have enough common sense to see when something is officially a lost cause.

Maybe the next news thread should be locked then because it will turn into something like this

locking the topic right away sort of shows that the staff doesn't have the patience to deal with the storm that will inevitably follow

As it's well known, having a community this large it's now (from what we've seen, anyways) impossible to satisfy everyone. So stuff like this is bound to happen. All I can really say is that if the members don't like the way the staff is going, they can PM them about it. If after that the staff say it's still going down in the way they first had said, then I guess it's time for the members to move on from here. We members can't really do much after the verdict has been made, we just gotta adjust or go.

Nah, it's possible. The people that are complaining are generally complaining about the same things, and the rest don't care.

Solve the few problems people are complaining about, and seriously, everybody will be happy.

Or that what is going to happen will happen, that's it.

In theory.

When you solve one problem though, you then create another, which causes people who may or may not have been complaining before to complain about the new problem.

That's why you just fix the problem, no side effects. Like, if there was less strict moderation on the CCC, it would have no negative side effects, really.

All you would get is what you're getting as of recently, except minus all of the controversial bans and crap.

I know that the problem is never as bad as these topics make it out to be, so I could defiantly believe it to be, but it's like mariobro said, that same group seem to move on to another problem though.

If we could fix their way of finding another issue, then I totally could say we'd be happy. You don't see any of the other forums in here in a mess, do we? :P

You can't just fix a problem without side effects. :\ It sounds easy, but with over 9000 people on these forums it would never happen.

I think in this situation it would work, since there really isn't that much to fix.

There would really only be side effects if they go on trying to change more than what needs changing.

You seriously think less strict moderation, thereby allowing more people to break rules unpunished, or just generic decrease in post quality, is the answer to our problems?

Slightly less strict. Obviously things like "lol" as a topic are stupid, and bigger rules like innapropriate pictures and crap should still be enforced, but banning over reaction images or other things that people are just using for fun that aren't getting in the way of anything is just stupid.

And you're assuming that we're all stupid enough to degrade in post quality if the rules are less strict. Just because there is less to worry about when you post doesn't mean we're all going to lose our sanity
