I have a legitimate question

Why not just lift the ban, since it obviously isn't helping mfgg in any way?

What do you get when you cross mario, luigi, and a bad troll

Anyway, this whole rule change has basically started a ****storm among the rational side of mfgg, so the best course of action would be to lift it and forget it ever happened

Oh, and stop deleting posts you don't like, too

This whole thing is just a pretty biased opinion on it all since you're one of the few making it a bigger mess than it has to be honestly, because you personally don't like the rules. You yourself have said "just allow trolling because it's only harmless fun" but not everyone agrees with that and what hurts and what doesn't isn't a universal fact, we just have to try govern it as best as we can.

And honestly, aside from a select few, everyone else is getting along with their lives just fine, so cheer up a little and make some good posts out there. cool2.gif

Actually Imma have to stop ya right there and say that at this point the only ones who disagree are you, about five members, and the rest of staff. Personally I think it's a LITTLE hurtful but if the members do fine with it (who we happen to mod for so we should try our best to actually LISTEN to them for once) then there isn't a real reason to kill a whale over it.

Granted, I'm talking about the CCC almost entirely so it should be fine if we can loosen up the screws on this one as far as the CCC goes alone - especially if we ever fix the broken trial member system.

By the way as far as everyone's concerned I'm swinging back and forth between member and mod opinions (yes it's true oh god, HOWEVER thank you me I have the balls to admit it), but believe me when I say that remaining arbitrarily neutral is a ****ING DIFFICULT task to accomplish when there's so many rule workarounds and so many members that continually wanna take a jab at us for not allowing them to do their FAVORITE THINGS ever.

seriously spritanium, what has been with you lately; you were a pretty nice member for a while but then suddenly everything kinda blew up. I don't understand why you're so angry about this -- it's a simple rule really, and it doesn't affect you at all because I've never really seen you use a reaction image to troll somebody. ever. it seems like you're trying to cause trouble and complain just because you can, which is rather silly.

just chillll, it's not the end of the world.

Does your sentence come in English flavour? Perhaps i'm just frazzled and can't understand your words today.

PERHAPS.

But the flavor of disagreement is inherently superior!

No reason to chain the members if it isn't particularly hurtful to leave them as is.

As far as everything stays in the CCC though. Anything outside, I agree with you.

What's with you taking such a PERSONAL stance anyhow? It isn't like anything I ever say particularly influences you or your decisions.

It's easy to say that but you can say that about almost anything. It's not even a tough rule, all i'm doing is giving some examples to make it clearer, we haven't banned anything outright, just stopping it being used in a negative or spammy way and trying to apologise for the mistakes we've made.

Because not more than 2 or 3 days ago you were saying in Forum 12 "we should strengthen the rules and start banning people and become more imposing" and now you're all "lets drop the rules and let 'em go, it's not hurting anyone"

In order to ensure an MFGG that more closely resembles the ideal that the mods and admins are aiming for, I think we should release a new set of rules entirely. I believe these points will suffice as a basic guide for this new set of rules:
  • All non-Moderator and Administrator accounts will be shifted to a new usergroup called "Not Staff Members"
  • Users in the "Not Staff Members" group have unlimited access to view the site (with the exception of Forum 12), but are not granted Posting, Editing, Private Messaging, or Quoting privileges
  • Users in the "Not Staff Members" group will have to wait 2 months before earning the Happy Heart badge (or perhaps some new equivalent of it)
  • The Happy Heart badge enables usage of the Avatar privilege; all members without Happy Heart badges will be given a default avatar until they receive this perk
  • "Not Staff Members" do not get Member Title or Signature privileges
  • Users not in the "Not Staff Members" group have access to all privileges and all forums, in addition to the ability to delete accounts and change avatars at will
With this new set of rules, I really do believe MFGG will be rid of trolling, flaming, and all other mean-spirited activities. It will truly become a peaceful, friendly community for new and old members alike.

I hope BS will seriously consider this new plan of action; it will be the best thing to have happened to MFGG in a long, long time.

I am. I really do think it would ensure an MFGG more suitable to the mod/admin team's ideals.

I think whether or not the actual userbase will like it or not is a moot point, though, seeing as very few of the other reforms were run by us beforehand, anyways.
