Seriously, why does he always drag his DA drama to MFGG and his friends? Or am I just the only person in the world that really couldn't give a darn about favourites?

edit: and as to what he's raging about my only guess is that only one work of his is getting attention when he has a bunch of other stuff he wishes people would acknowledge as well.

i drew a gift art to a friend I don't even like it and somehow out of all my deviations which have at most 300 views usually the gift has over 1000 and has some of the most favs on my dA

also didn't the whole fued between you and ashura start through deviantart. I'm just asking out of curiosity because I think I recall some big outside dispute happening a while back related to deviantart.

It has more to do with the popularity of the tags you add to your art (Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, Pokemon, Bleach, etc. = more favourites), not the skill/aesthetics. We all know this.

I dunno, I've talked to him when he really was serious about a situation similar to this on AIM. He always gets worked up over favourites and I don't know why -- it's just a bunch of 13-year-olds clicking "Favourite!" on all the images that have tags related to things they like. It has nothing to do with the quality of the art, and out of, say, maybe 100 favourites, only about 5-10 are actually meaningful. I've told Ashura this like 9001 times and he never seems to get it.

It started because I critiqued his art.

Seriously, if you can't deal with the silly rules of DA's ego-game, then don't participate. There's plenty of other sites where you can host and even comment on pictures without a "favouriting" system like DA.

Photobucket, Twitter (I think, though honestly I've never used it), Livejournal, Xanga, etc.

Blogging sites'll work fine -- you can keep an art blog. You can also use websites like MySpace and FaceBook if you want. Or if you want to make your own personal online portfolio for school or something (mentioning this since I know Ashura's planning on majoring in art), that's always a good idea if you're planning on going professional. You can even use MFGG's Arts Board.

Really, the options are pretty limitless; DA's not the only place on the planet where you can post art.
