360 FPS/RPG - Borderlands, The hybrid shooter and role playing game

so it's a shooter with randomized weapons

tf2 nearly beat you there

(and to be honest, the fact that this takes place in a wasteland with raiders and was described as "rpg/fps" made the bell ring for me)

i like the idea of a shooter where you can pick what characteristics your weapon has, though. if there is a way to name your new guns, i am so ****ing in because i want to name all my shotguns. ALL OF THEM.

Yeah I think you should definitely give it a shot, it's a really expansive game, the weapon count actually stands at about 14.5 million if you count all variations and parts to the tiniest degree, the numbers become really important when they're that high though, the reality is you will constantly be picking up weapons that are brand new to you, their look, feel, and damage will be so radically different that you find yourself developing preferences even over your best weapons.

At its best, this is an amazing co-op experience. At its worst this is an acceptable single player shooter RPG hybrid. Do check it out it will make me go

i stocked this at work today

every painstaking copy i shelved took me closer to death because i cant play it until next week.

haha well let me know when you do so you can get your "I played with a dev" achievement. Zeke is such an airhead, he gets on and goes "Whoa I got an achievement?" and I'm like "damn it man you do not read The U do you"

Is there a Steam achievement as well?

Far as I know we are not supporting achievements on Steam but I will be available to play soon as it's out.

Most of the creature attacks, screen effects, blood, muzzle flashes - I do the visual effects

The whole concept of so many weapons is cool, but I'm very interested in the skill trees for the characters.

Slim sharp shooter guy looks the coolest though.

Yeah he's by far been the most popular, I think starting players might enjoy the other three characters more as far as gameplay goes. Brick is my preference but Roland is easily 2nd most popular to Mordecai

I wonder if anyone will go Siren. Kinda seems like she goes against the concept of the game since she isn't gun-oriented. Same with Brick.

She actually has a lot of good gun boosting skills - I've beaten the game with her before and the only thing I can really say is she isn't nearly as much of a team player, I don't think she has a single skill that benefits your allies, but between phasewalk and her crit boosts you can move faster and generally be safer as a solo guy.

Well it's not exclusive to her there's actually about 14.5 million guns to use, so yeah an SMG with electric bullets isn't out of the question ;P

i was watching my friend play it and he found a sniper rifle that shot explosive rounds and an assault rifle that shot corrosive pistol rounds.
