Blood Ninjis Art Dump

This is a part of this picture I have a concept of on paper, Army Hammerbro; the one that captured Mario in Super Princess Peach.

It was hard getting his posture to look like he retired his shell for sheet armour. I ditched the streamers I usually draw on bigger capes inspired by Runescape and instead gave him a stole to bring up his mantel like shawl.

Man, my interpretation of Mario characters is almost stranger then Japans interpretation of sex.

First time I tried drawing some things at a higher resolution and interpolating them down. I ditched my usual outline routine in an attempt to learn so my drawings wont suck forever.

You should try smoothing out the unneeded angles, however.

I thought it was a human at first, until i concentrated on the face. Work on that maybe? Make him look more like a koops.

Yeah, my angles used to be much worst.

And I think all koopas are characterized for large talon like hands with relatively short arms, then I just need to work on his head a little more.

I guess I need some other form of inspiration. Tales Of Abyss has rather kick ass character designs despite Luke being a complete ***. Its true, Surcoats are feminine enough without being flared, white, orange and midriff revealing some sort of sports bra.

I suppose. If I can get used to drawing at a higher resolution all the details should be faster to draw, the outcome would come out better, and I can always scale it down anyway. So that's my goal.

your artwork is a bit sloppy in some areas. You need to work on anatomy some more.


I think that you've clashed certain styles together in a way that doesn't really work. For example, you've crossed non-AA'd outlines with blurred shading. It's most noticeable in this picture:



You see the edge of the small girl's dress? That yellow bit? It's a straight, non-blurred line that conflicts with the blurred shading of the dress. You should try to AA. The outlines don't always have to be jet black, either.


I think that that robot thing looks really cool, though (probably not a robot but whatever).

The eyeball tank is a robot sorta. I see what you mean in the picture of the angel and witch. It looks like a blob of darkness is stuck to her dress. Although that wasn't an intentional line, and I just ****ed up on behalf of incremental shading and didn't notice.

What's AA mean in drawing? Anti Aliasing?

working on an original game now opossed to crappy fan games. Can't get it off the ground until I either learn to write music in Jazz32 or recruit a music writer.

EDIT: Btw those are cultist, not the main characters.
