Do you use Pixel Shaders in your Games? Pixel Shaders can be used in both 2D and 3D Games, and make a real nice Water Effect in 2D Games, if you know how. I use them, and they will be featured in Mushroom Kingdom Emissary.
I know MechaBowser uses them in nearly every single game of his. Maybe he can provide a list of Shaders and how/where he uses them?

A List of 2D Shaders I have created:
-Blend: Blends the Pixel's Color with a Color of your choosing
-Colorize: Colorizes the Pixel by multiplying the Luminosity of the Pixel with a color of your choosing
-Grayscale: Makes the Pixel Gray by using the Luminosity of the Pixel
-Negative: Gives a Negative Effect to the Pixel by inverting the color
-Sepia: Gives a Sepia Effect to the Pixel by multiplying the Luminosity of the Pixel with the Color Sepia
-Wave: Moves the Pixel in a Wave Pattern using Sine.
-Water: Adds a cool looking Water Effect by using Sine and Cosine to move the Pixels around

I plan on using pixel shaders at some point...But only when I could be bothered with figuring them out. I've always thought them cool, though.

It's pretty much C/C++ Programming for the GPU with GLSL and HLSL. GLSL is for OpenGL, and HLSL is for DirectX. It's used to move things like Pixel and Physics Calculations to the GPU so the CPU can do more.

Very true. Fortunately you can always imitate pixel shaders through visual effects and texture work.

Of course there are ways to imitate pixel shaders, but pixel shaders are faster since they're directly implemented in the graphics card. On the other hand, older graphics card won't support pixel shaders. Though most games have pushed up the limit for the older cards to 2.0, pushing old people and their old computers out of the market, but I think 2.0 and above is much more common these days.

Pixel shaders are awesome. You forgot noise.

Wish GM would support them, though. Waiting for ENIGMA, I guess.

I don't use it because I don't know how to actually use it, even because they look hard as hell to make it work effectively.
But I know Pixel Shaders are really incridible, graphical-wise, and that they sometimes tell apart the awesome game designers from the not-so-awesome ones.
