ATTN: New forum software

after getting the details from my local office...I mean Guinea...I think that this move may not be quite as useless as I thought.

So I am now a stalwart supporter of the Enclave...I mean the staff.

One row in the database/some PHP file

It can be modified

No more broken links

So any word on when this is happening yet?

Because as you know, every staff member has a life that they have to deal with, and not just the internet.

Perhaps. I'm just not sure how complicated it has to be to install a forum. From what I can gather the modifications are already done.

especially with a member database this size and a number of mods not existing on the phpBB system that have to be added in from the mods that were installed through-out the existence of the IPB and not even installed from the start

I laughed at your serious response to my unserious post.

Well of course I want it done well. It's just there are lots of topics that are ongoing such as competitions and such that are somewhat time sensitive.

Wouldn't want to close one topic and start another and find the forum closed that very day.

Our objective is not to rush the process. We started out knowing it would probably take the summer to do. So despite some early criticisms that we didn't announce this soon enough, I think maybe we announced it too early.

On that note, I'm wondering: How many days/hours/what in advance will we know when the new one opens up?

Oh that would have went over well if you had waited, at least this way most people have calmed down some about the loss of the CCC. I just think that we could have some kind of progress or status to look at? We still know very little about the new forum.

I just don't know.


I want to gauge when to stop bothering to make new topics.
