heres what I would do
get the original sprite/ background piece

resize it so its small

then use it as a base, that way you can draw the outline so you can see what it looks like smaller.

ok i think i've got the tree down

but what about the ground? in the game the ground is already pretty bland so how should i make it more exciting?

add some details, add a rock or two, make some dark spots on the ground add those weird swirly plants maybe a enemy too

i'm doing a pissed of wiggler by the way

hmm should i just convert it to Chucklehuck Woods instead of the Winkle Woods? The ground is more interesting and i would have more options.
