seems more like he just picks his attacks at random and when all the rats are dead he adds the rat throwing attack

it's a random algorithm. If all rats are dead and rat gibs everywhere, the attack where he throws them is added to the bunch of randomly picked attacks. Random is a difficult measure, sometimes it can cause trouble.

Could you make it maybe a probability thing?

Like have the meteors attack 40% chance of being used, and the rat summoning being 60% chance.

edit: except 25% chance of meteors, 25% chance of spawning rats and 50% chance of rat toss attack

Maybe make the comet attack less likely with each time it is used until another attack is used.

Any chance you can amp up the difficulty a bit, or at least make a selectable hard mode? It's kind of ridiculously easy with the huge amount of life you have, like, I ran into the first boss like 10 times before realizing I couldn't directly attack him and I still had quite a bit of life left.

that's why the second boss was significantly harder

Well yeah, but it'd make sense to address the first boss too, yes? Even for a first boss it's pretty ridiculously easy. I'm not really asking you to go back and change a lot, but maybe make it do more damage or something?

he was meant to introduce the player to the concept of a boss, so he was supposed to be easy. I like the sound of a hard mode though, maybe I'll add that in episode 3? :3

Please do! It's kind of ridiculous that you can currently take like more than 20 hits before dying. Should be more around like, 8 in hard mode.

A little something you might want to fix - dying at Kamek makes him impossible to beat. Since you lose the shovel there's no way of doing the final strike on him. (when continuously being attacked with meteors for like 8 times in a turn dying is quite easy - another thing. Maybe add a limit?)

I always lose it when fighting Kamek and die (haven't tried if it happens in the normal level too). Fought him again, died, same thing happened. (screen, if that helps anything)
