Super Mario Bros. X is a massive fan game dedicated to the most famous plumber of all time.
It has everything you could possibly ask for in a video game. In the 2 months since it's initial release it has had over 50,000 downloads.

Features:

Two player simultaneous co-op play:

The players interact with each other in the same way as the classic Mario Bros. game.
Bounce off each others heads, bump your friend off the edge, and even eat the other player with your Yoshi.
It has a dynamic screen that seamlessly splits and combines as the players separate and rejoin.

Three complete episodes to chose from:

Play the classic v1.0 'Invasion' with over 60 levels to explore, most of them with secret exits.
Try out 1.1 beta demo 'Princess Cliche' or go strait in to the brand new 'Great Castle Adventure' where Mario
must collect stars to rescue princess Peach in a fashion very similar to Super Mario 64.

An easy to use yet power level editor

This game comes with the same editor that was used to great the included episodes. Create your own levels,
then put them in a world or connect them with a hub level and share them online.
Did I mention you can create the level real-time while you are playing it?
Try erasing the ground below your buddies feet, or dropping 100 koopa troopas in his head.

Both old and new power-ups:

You want Yoshis? We have seven of them, the four classics and three brand new ones,
all with abilities. How about Goomba's shoes? It's here.
Why don't you grab the leaf and take flight, or highjack the Koopa Clown car and
take your friend for a ride while he rains fireballs down on the enemy.
Don't forget about the bullet bill cannon or the portable piranha plant.

And much much more:

It has a soundtrack of 50 songs. It has cheat codes.
Type in captainn and you can freeze time when you press start, type in
shadowstar and you will transform in to shadow mario who can walk through
walls. Getting tired of only controlling one Mario? type in supermario128 and
you can lead 128 of them!

And this is just the tip of the ice-berg.

You can find this game over at my website SuperMarioBrothers.org or more specifically @ Super Mario Bros. X

Here are a few gameplay videos incase you still aren't sold:

The Original 1.0 Gameplay Trailer

Fun with the Real-Time Level Editor.

Super Mario 128

I hope you guys enjoy playing it as much as I have enjoyed making it!

Heh, the idea to automatically go into splitscreen in 2P mode when too far apart is genius. Although it appears to be quite distracting at first, if the screen just tears into half like that.

Only saw the videos, I'll try that later.

Except for the fact that enemies kill me if I'm standing on top of a block above them it looks pretty good.

This game is great. Playing with my brother on this game is also a blast. It was at first kinda weird adjusting to the split screen, but once we did it became second nature. Good job on this!

Something bugs me about the videos; there's no "score" pop-ups nor pop-ups for the 1-up mushrooms. I do realize there's no score in this, but the little pop-ups still add a bit of detail to killing stuff.

Anywho, I'll try this when I'm on my better computer.

Have you tried running it in a windowed view instead of full screen?

Nice job not using Game Maker or MMF2, but knowing MFGG, I expect a huge flamewar over this.

no, visual basic is not hated in the least.

games with built in engines, or easily copyable ones are hated.

eg, stencil, rpg maker.

You haven't seen MFGGers go all out against Visual Basic? I have, several times.

Let me put it this way:
Visual Basic is one of the few programming languages remaining that was not in any way inspired by C/C++. Just about every other language in use is based at least slightly on C/C++, making it easier to switch languages. The use of almost any language that was not inspired by C/C++, including Visual Basic, is considered a "Programming Sin" by many MFGGers. I remember when I first tried to learn Visual Basic. I posted about it here on MFGG and got a lot of people yelling at me to stop.

That's retarded unless it was concerned yelling because it wouldn't help with a lot of other languages.

I don't think MFGG will get mad in this case.

I mean, who gives a crap how it was made, if it plays well and is an enjoyable game then it doesn't matter.
