Today was pretty funny for me, me and a group of people went to a kid we all know's house when he wasn't home and played with his Xbox and stuff. We were expecting him to come home before we got there but he never showed up, so we basically just went to his house and did stuff

And tomorrow (or today technically) I'm going up to New York to practice what is technically my first gig! So that'll be fun.

I've pretty much just been hanging around the house. Was waiting for my church pastor to give me a call all day because he's mentoring me (in all honesty, I'm more doing it because he's a cool guy, not because I need to learn the stuff he's teaching me), but he didn't call until, like, 3:30 PM, so by that point in time, I had no choice but to wait until he arrived. That basically screwed my whole day over, so I just played a bit of TF2 and some Oblivion and posted some stuff here.

I probably should get to practicing my bass again, though.

Oh got my haircut today, and learned that MJ's death was a homocide. Some kid next to me was staring at the TV just like me.

Still waiting for my love to call/text me, it's 2:AM and I guess she forgot about me or is cheating on me. Either way it only makes my bad day worst than what it was.

Yep. I don't have my own band yet, but there's a big benefit show going on for my uncle on who has cancer, so a bunch of local Staten Island bands are gonna be playing. My dad happens to be good friends with the lead singer and guitarist of one of those bands, so I got in.

It's perfect, too, because all I play is classic rock, so I was able to practice with the guy with absolutely no hitches, since he's an old-time rocker kind of person. It's gonna be so much fun gaaah I can't wait

Schweet. Don't worry too much about not having your own band. I don't either.

I play guitar/bass and do vocals, myself. I don't have any fancy-schmancy instruments, but that's because I'm too poor to afford them. :P

I'd prefer the bass over the guitar, but when you're leading a band, sometimes you have to make sacrifices (I head up the youth music at my church).

This talk about instruments reminds me that I have a Casio keyboard.

But I am terrible at any instrument. I just can't get it to work, and when I do, Teacher comes over and says that I'm playing the lead with the wrong hand.

It's all about practice. It's impossible to learn any instrument if you don't practice like crazy early on.

Though, it's also important that you stay interested - I would never have been able to learn the guitar if my teacher didn't help me learn what I wanted to play.

So yeah, it's not easy learning instruments, but damn does it pay off.
